Start with my fav, Furubaby

So I'm a little disappointed we didnt get to see either the contracts forming or the pillar fight, I get the story needed to move quickly but still, maybe in a flash back in a later chapter... you can also probably guess that I am BITTERLY disappointed that Hecadoth, Jabberwock and Agiel dont seem to have been involved... they might come later but it seems unlikely given that the focus has shifted

And even though we dont see him turn to stone, I think theres a pretty big chance of it :( ... unless he turns up to help Oga, but I doubt it

I find 2 things hysterical about the mass contracts

Laymia contracted him before Lamia. Lamia has a little tsundere crush, I dont think anyone can dispute that, and then her MOTHER goes and forms a contract... I just cannot wait to see how she deals with that - I'm assuming Lamia on Furu violence.

Alaindelon... Arrives in a war zone and the first thing he does is ask about his Takayuki. I've had a suspicion for a while that Alain might have picked up on whatever it is that Furu is... so I dont imagine he will handle the news that 20+ other demons have a contract with him well...I'm imagining tears... I would like to see some badass Alain during the fight tho, I really think he's capable of it and I'd like to see it

Toujo

I had a similar reaction to Oga - disbelief, shock, horror... then totally impressed. I love that not only did he take out 100 crest bearers - without Oga's powers - before petrifying, but that he did it with a huge smile on his face. I'm not sure if Toujo is even fully aware of the demonic situation yet, or if it was just another example of him being the best person... I can honestly imagine him overhearing Himekawa and the upstarts talking and just saying "I dont really get it, but leave it to me."

Because he is just wonderful...

And now unlike Oga's previous big fights, he cant depend on Toujo showing up suddenly and I think thats why he panicked - not just because he cant imagine  Toujo losing, but because now he knows Toujo wont come to back him up.

Aoi

I was very impressed by Aoi in this chapter, the things she said to Oga, it wasnt just how great she thought he was, but more how disappointed she was, and what he had to do to change that.

"you havent been fighting alone for a long time now." This line reminded me a lot of the pillar squad arc - when Oga charged into Akumano Academy he said the same thing to the squad "I havent been alone this whole time" (something like that)

Obviously, not loving the fact that she also turned to stone, but I suppose like Furu and Toujo, Oga cant rely on her backing him up during the fight.

CONFESSION ... angry, interrupted confession, BUT STILL... there is no way Oga can misinterpret that! I may not ship it, but at least now he will have to acknowledge it - then she can move on to that Aiba (I wanna say Aiba?) guy. He was nice.

Hilda & Beel

THEYRE BACK AND BEEL CALLED HIM DADA AGAIN.

Beel and Oga act as a unit, so I imagine Hilda will deal with whichever of Fuji-Satan Oga doesnt fight... I hope afterwards she kicks his ass for leaving Beel.

Oga

So Oga has been pissing me off for months - leaving Beel behind PLUS THE ENTIRE TAKAMIYA ARC (I still have a lot of rage about that) so I'm really glad he has hit this low point - beat up and yelled at etc

Because now he can start to turn it around.

"I never dreamed things would turn out like this." Oga doesnt think. But now he is feeling the full weight of the responsibility he's been handed - every person petrified is his responsibility, and he's finally forced to realise he cant handle Fuji without Beel.

I find it really interesting the parallels between Aoi and Oga's conversation and Oga and Furuichi's

In LA when Furu questions how theyre going to fight Fuji without Beel, Oga says its better for Beel to be with his mother... now the convo is flipped - Oga thinks Aoi is asking why Oga would leave his power source, but really she's questioning how could Oga separate Beel from the only parent he's ever known.

I love that he's forced to quickly question his own decisions AND FEELINGS, theres no chance to brood or ask for help or advice - he has to make up his mind and admit what he wants.

Fuji & Satan

These 2 have an interesting relationship.

They keep bitching and sniping at each other, but I kinda feel like its the sort of relationship you have with your best friend - teasing insult the hell out of each other but still work perfectly... at least I think it is, I'd be really annoyed if they turned on each other.

Is Fuji like 7ft tall? because Satan looks so damn cute next to him... but he was very intimidating in previous images so I'm not sure if its a ratio thing or if Satan is really really short.

cos damn he's so cute next to fuji, wearing his little coat... can I find Satan adorable?

One last thing

"Ishiyama" ... "mountain of stone" ... big bad turns the whole city to stone... Tamura has spent the last 235 chapters just waiting to use that pun hasnt he?
