I've actually been looking for an excuse to draw Capital B again for a while now. The "enter this fanart contest for a chance to get a free code of a remake of a video game you already own on two separate consoles" incentive was just a bonus.

Inktober 52 2026 - Week 3 - Glide
Last month my partner @scifer got me Yooka replaylee for my Birthday, and I've been playing through it. I got the game when it first came out, I had a lot of fun, but I had issues with the gliding sections on keyboard and mouse. It also didn't seem to like my plugged in controller; so I never quite completed the first game. I've been itching to replay it; and this updated version is much better, and I had a lot of fun again.
I've also been sorting out a lot of my art supplies and donating tuff to my little niece and felt like I should use up some of my sugar paper scraps lol
Laylee is amazing and I love her.

I remember when i played Yooka-Replaylee and i saw your piece in the fan art gallery, i thought it was so cool that i had actually reblogged that piece already. It was cool to realize that people who don't follow you or use social media, would still be able to see the piece you made out of simple passion for the game. Hope your evening is going nicely! ♡

Playtonic has had two prior art contests that I submitted, runnered-up, but ultimately did not win. I really tried to lock-in for the Replaylee one, but I think the biggest factor was simply that my art had improved a lot over the years! Felt good to have that affirmed, in a way ðŸ¤

I drew the Yooka and the Laylee
Wanted to draw Yooka and Laylee since there's an artist I like, PixiBixi, who draws them, and they're an inspiration for my art.
uh
turns out it was harder to figure out how to draw them than I thought, ESPECIALLY Yooka.
So you may have noticed some creative liberties I took with their designs.
