Tl;dr for those not in the know, Nationals MP Alison Penfold introduced a private member's bill before the house that aims to introduce a binary definition of gender into the sex discrimination act. This act is designed to specifically define trans women as being female on a gendered basis, but male on a sex basis, seperating the terms of sex and gender, but in a way that allows trans women to be discriminated against without that being legally discrimination. This bill is one of the Australian right wing's attempts to use the culture war to boost their polls the year before a federal election, and this is the time for us to fight back against this discrimination. Bigotry has no place in our country, and this is the time to make a stand. We have the power to stop this in its tracks, let's do our part to advance Australia fair.
