#wcw to the one and only Penny Marshall. When I was little I was drawn to her as Laverne; she reminded me so much of my Nana and she was funny and imperfect. But Penny was more than Laverne. She was groundbreaking, humble, and absolutely incredible with a plethora of talents. A League of Their Own is a movie I watched upwards of 50 times, mainly before the age of 12. I think I loved it most because I felt like I could be one of those incredible women, if I wanted to. It made me feel strong and proud. Penny, I am so thankful for the mark you have left on our cultures history, and my personal history. I think for just once, we can allow crying in baseball.
