like. it’s canon that all three nerdy prudes had crushes on steph pre-canon and my boy richie is no exception.

and yet!

he’s easily the least friendly towards her in the group. he's reluctant to include her in anything, scoffs at the idea that she might stick around, doesn't ever try to be alone with her, and basically just barely tolerates her newfound presence in his life.

and obviously he dies before they can get too deep into it, but i think that would drive steph absolutely insane.

steph is used to people tripping over themselves to get close to her. she's popular, she's gorgeous, she's the mayor's daughter! literally every single other person she knows wants to be her friend so bad.

except, for no reason she can figure out, for richie.

he hides his laugh when she makes jokes. he flinches at the same casual touches pete and ruth cuddle into. he’s a little too biting when they’re snarking back and forth, like he can’t tell if she’s kidding or not.

and then it somehow gets more confusing bc people keep telling her that richie actually likes her.

pete assures her that richie is always rlly happy when she shows up to movie nights. ruth jokes about shipping them. steph meets richie’s uncle paul and he tells her that it took months to clock that his nephew and his coworker’s brother were best friends, but her name started popping up as soon as she joined the group.

and she’s like “tf you mean? he barely talks to me.”

I freaking love lautschitz bro... They're so cute!!! They would just be so awkward with each other ans steph would bully him in a sweet way and hed snap right back, get flustered, turn away, and then steph would force him to look at her again and would kiss him. Its just what happens dude. They're the sweetest ever.

They're just babies. They would suit each other perfectly! Yes pete and steph are amazing amazing but I also think that any of the nerds could fit steph easily. I PERSONALLY don't ship grace and steph, I see why they're paired, but I dont like it that much. So, I think we make Holyspankwad a thing, then steph and richie are together. Perfect solution!
