This beautifully detailed gown, designed by Walter Plunkett, was created for the 1956 film π«ππππ, where it was worn by Lana Turner as Diane de Poitiers. The film was a big project for MGM, and publicity photos show there was a great emphasis on the costumes in the film, staging its star amongst Plunkettβs creations. Β In 1966, it appeared in an episode of π»ππ π΄ππ ππππ πΌ.π΅.πͺ.π³.π¬. called π»ππ πΉππππ π»ππππ π¨πππππ, where it was worn by Valora Noland as Grand Duchess Vicky.
