That's a tough one that I have never thought about! I would say a nice rain and thunder storm is nice (when you're not inside it lol), but it's nice for any activity including just enjoying it, right? I don't think weather plays a big role for me in writing, but yes, rain is always nice. Weather that tells you "nah, you're not doing anything but writing now", but I'm much rather a random muse writer.

He was so happy on the Myeongnyang, and to me, this is song that celebrates that time they had the most.

It's both a strength and a flaw depending on the context, but Sam burns the candle at every end and finds a way to make new ends. He's two steps ahead of everyone, cannot and will not slow down, and has a bad habit of refusing to wait for anyone who's trying to keep up.

3. Has your OC killed a friend/family member/loved one?

Luckily for Regis, that's a no.

For Nyx, I headcanon that parts of the First Contact War were far bloodier and brutal since there's not a ton of information about all the specifics. He was a veteran of the war known for infiltrating and assassination. With that being said, he's mercy killed one of his close comrades during the war, too injured to be carried out, but enough for the turians to capture her. Aster was the one who first gave him the name Phoenix, because of his penchant to revive old tech and work on guns that everyone else had failed to bring back to life.

Both made an agreement to each other that if something were to happen, they would want death over capture. Nyx wasn't about to break an oath.

8. Would your OC consider themself evil?

Evil? No, for both. But not good men? Yes.

Both are Torfan Shepards, which leans into that. Regis particularly considers himself quite "grey" during ME3 since he leans into the ruthless mindset even more. Choosing to save the rachni queen once again since he sees better potential in keeping the rachni alive. Destroying the geth without a second thought, as a few examples.

Nyx doesn't consider himself a particularly good person because of his biases left from the FCW. He doesn't trust turians and believes they should've been punished far more. A part of him accepted the Normandy because he found it quite... interesting that they chose a FCW veteran to lead a joint human and turian ship. The Spectre position was the icing on the cake. Unlike Regis, he's a bit more willing to shoot first and get the job done.

So no, not evil, but not quite good either.

For me it was the birth! A number of people had already written fun stories about Hera having Jacen, some also set during Rogue One, but as a labor and delivery nurse, I really wanted to see her delivery written in a way that scratched a particular realism itch for me, as well as showing how she’s healing from the loss of Kanan and aiding in that healing. Then I immediately got really intrigued with the idea of Hera and Cham being estranged again somehow and that factoring into the story, so one of the very first scenes I drafted for the whole series was her calling her dad to ask for help. And their conflict was SO FUN to write.

*Kaidan chuckles.* "Are you saying you saved the galaxy from the Reapers just to save the moose?"

*Caleb looks around the table at Kaidan, Tadhg and Niamh, all who are eating Moose Tracks as well. Mooses Squoosh [Niamh's plush moose from Aunt Abby] sits on the table next to her as she eats her ice cream*. "Maybe not just the moose," he replies while grinning around a mouthful of ice cream and winking.

So, there ya go. Honestly, I think he's less 'favorite' comfort food and more 'comfort from the people he spends the time with'. Depending on the point in his life, he could be sitting at the dinner table with Ned and Nan, hiding in a damp, cold hideout with some of the Reds during the war with the Greystones, hanging out in a pub with Coats and Kaidan, or at home with Kaidan and the kids after the war and be equally happy.

omg truly and sincerely bless you for asking. I was trying to figure out why the light on Havarl was the way it was, because my non!Pathfinder Sara went there to help research remnant technology.

Any actual scientists that come across this post can feel free to chime in because I am far from an expert on literally anything. Basically, I needed a line for SAM about the light on Havarl, because it is always so goddamn dark. But the wiki of the game doesn't give any info about that. The solar system map shows a lot of dust around the star, so I literally started with googling "what's it called when there's dust around a star." Then I did a deep dive into how that would look from a planet in the system, then how it would affect photosynthesis and, like, mammalian life.

Basically, it seems to hinge on how much dust there is? Circumstellar dust can be the cause of extinction events if it blocks out too much sunlight, so I wanted to find out what the sweet spot was. Then I realized I didn't really need to know exactly what that was for the line I needed for the fic, lol.

Which is this, in context:

Light is diffused in space and less light reaches the planet. Enough for photosynthesis, however.”  “That explains the plant growth.” “Restarting Havarl’s vault has had a remarkable effect on the planet’s wildlife, but change has been slow.”

4. Is your Shepard any good at poker?

I think that Alice can hold her own. I do subscribe to @swaps55's headcanon that Kaidan is a god-tier poker player, so she will usually lose to him by the end, but she will regularly rinse Vega on poker night. She keeps trying to tell Vega that he's got a tell that he refuses to believe he has and she will exploit it. (Does he actually have a tell, or is she just fucking with him enough that he ends up with a tell anyway? More likely than you think!)

31. Who can always make them laugh?

Her father could. Jos and Alice had a really close relationship, most of the time she ended up with him when his and Hannah's individual assignments split them up. And when her biotics manifested, it isolated her from others in her age group, so she spent even more time with Jos, who was an extremely affable man that would do anything to make her smile. And it never failed. (and now I am all up in my Jos feels)

2. What are they flaws? Do they like talking about them and/or do they acknowledge them and try work on them?

Reagan is very quick to anger. She doesn't hide it, either. She's very mercurial, which sometimes keeps her crew a little on edge because they really know what kind of person they'll be working with day by day. But at the end of the day, they know she'll have their back and protect them. It's not something she works on, she kind of uses it to her advantage. People think they can walk all over her but she'll show them that she's not someone you double-cross and people will then work with her afterwards.

She also tends to be a workaholic when she gets a posting, prior to her death, she found herself craving drugs and alcohol a lot as she was an addict during her time in the Reds. She found working help get the cravings at bay, especially when Coats wasn't around. So she works hard, and sometimes even forgets to eat unless someone reminds her.

14. How does your Shepard act like when they’re stressed? Do they hide it or do they make it obvious that they need to calm down?

She doesn't hide stress really well. She'll be more aggressive. She'll snap a lot easier.

14. What’s your Shepard’s favorite weapon?

John's favourite weapon is the Black Widow. He's a sniper through and through, he was top of class and wears it like a badge of honour. He'll carry a pistol and a SMG for backup or for close quarters but he'll hardly ever use them.
