tried to make a height chart of my swtor ocs but the problem is. THE PROBLEM IS. the only canon height reference picture i have is THIS
so i look it up. for reference, malgus is just under 7"4' and yes you DID read that right. its disrespectful is what it is. what the fuck malgus.
so THIS is where we're starting. i have to compare all of my other swtor ocs on a scale of MALGUS to FENLEY, which as you can imagine, is an insane scale to be trying to use, ever. I mean technically I can also use rycus and sh'iloh, but that is frankly just as bad as you can see above.
I DID EVENTUALLY FIGURE IT OUT THOUGH
which i turned into this after erasing the bg's and just slapping it all in paint. GOOD ENOUGH FOR NOW

Lachlann runs hot when he fights so he needs a minute to sit in the snow and cool down after every combat... I'm still so sad all the time that I had to drop this campaign, I love him very much
Ian hated leaving town. He hated it in the way that made him uncomfortable, nervous, because Ian was nervous, town was home and maybe not safe at times but compared to what Ian had grown up knowing? It was a thousand times better. It wasn't humiliating, dehumanizing, and a constant struggle with self worth he couldn't even explain to his family because it would have sent them into anger and made his mother afraid for him; Swynlake was infinitely better than life had been before it. So it felt safe. It felt like he never wanted to leave.
And there he was, standing in the faint chill of morning air an absolutely unimportant Friday morning with his messenger bag stuffed with more than his usual notebooks and pens, lingering at his mom's front point, waiting to do exactly that; leave.
It didn't feel dramatic, he had spoken to his mom about his plans, texted Tony and Eilonwy, called Greg; his departure was bland in comparison to what it might have been. Planned, carefully, so the only person caught off guard by it was Ian himself. He hated the idea of leaving town, he was afraid of the idea, honestly, and that too was part of his reasoning.
His nerve was near to faltering but hadn't yet, even though he did jump when his phone beeped an alert and he fished it free from his hoodie pocket to check the app.
He very well couldn't walk out of town, after all.
The familiar face that popped up on the screen, something he shouldn't have been surprised, was both welcome and uneasy; it was either going to be a long trip to NTO, or not; depending on how much he was expected to explain himself. But it was better than suffering in the silence of company of a stranger. His finger hovered over the cancel button a moment but, no, Ian shoved his phone away and steeled his resolve; he wasn't going to let himself get out of this.

oh also lachlann has decided that they are a girl. at least in some ways. so there is that. gender is a wiggly beast they dont care they have battles to fight and honor to win.
nothing like writing an oc and messing up the pronouns 24/7 because apparently the oc has something to tell you... mandalorian isn't a gendered langauge anyways...
not changing the model because i am an alien and monster race MMO truther by which i mean the female models should not have boobs and snatched waists and the worlds thickest eyelashes. let them have inhuman gender norms!!! or none!! as i imagine is the case for mandalore. like their language doesnt even have gender no one caaaaares over there.
Ooo 8, 27, and 28 for Lachlann from the cosmic horror ask game
MORE! MORE! i am spoiled for choice... please enjoy the fluffiest mandalorian... (bonus content: their fur is slightly curly to me...)
cosmic horror questions
8. Do they fear being forgotten?
Not really!
She's from a rather traditional tribe, and as far as Mandalorian beliefs go, as long as she lives and dies as a Mandalorian she will be remembered. She will join the Manda (which is both all previous Mandalorian's marching on and a sort of Mandalorian-oversoul situation made of all previous Mandalorians -- it's complicated...) and will march on with those who have gone before her whether that be as individuals or as one giant mandalorian soul crammed together.
Her armor will be passed down within clan carid after she dies, and her legacy will live on through the legacies of those who come after. this is the way.
(the rest under the cut!)
27. What do they consider real? Do they believe in things they can see and touch?
See it, touch it, taste it, smell it, hear it... You'd think that would be enough, but senses can be tricky. There are drugs that can make you see things that aren't there, and Lachlann can smell pheromones as a Cathar, but most other species can't -- does that make them any less real? The force is real, and Lachlann can't sense that.
Lachlann is fairly open-minded for a traditionalist mandalorian. they believe in the manda and the ka'ra, that there is a place for them after death even if they cannot see it or sense it in any meaningful way, and have no idea exactly what it will be like. i suppose you can say lachlann has faith, insofar as mandalorian's do.
they're not the authority on reality, and there is much they haven't experienced yet.
28. What do they think about dreams?
dreams are dreams unless they aren't. easy to understand, right?
regular dreams and nightmares are normal and exist, but Lachlann is of the belief that the ka'ra'tigaanur (star touched, mandalorians with the force) can reach out to others with the force through dreams. at least, she's heard of it happening.
and the ka'ra, the council of dead kings is implied to have a will despite being, well, dead. if they were to reach out, it would be through dreams too. and Lachlann has had the occasional dream after someone has died that featured them and felt very real. she can't say for certain if that was them reaching out from their march, but it's comforting to think that it was.
i need to do a lachlann post too.. here's LACHLANN clan and house CARID my beautiful mandalorian cathar of indeterminite gender. personally i am a believer in the idea that you can use either cathar model for any gender because i don't think they have much differences between genders. the game will lie to you and make you think fem cathar have boobs. they dont have those. or at least they dont have to. the diversity of cathar gender expression because they aren't bound to human norms... anyways
lachlann speaks mando'a as a primary language and it is a very LITERAL language. a lot of new words get made up by smashing words together. this does not translate to basic very well. lachlann sounds almost stilted or medieval in basic becuase they are not very good at speaking it and just aim for the most literal translation 100% of the time. they slip into mando'a often.
personality wise they are also decisive, excitable at times, and more than a little dense -- though part of that is the language barrier. they express themself very openly! they are about CONVICTION and HONOR and PROTECTING YOUR PEOPLE. its about following the RESOL'NARE.
clan carid is known for keeping their word and answering the mand'alor's call all the way up to jango fetts time, so i am working under the assumption that they're a fairly traditional clan. they follow the mand'alor, even if they don't like certain aspects of the empire.
they will step in to aid any child at any possible given time, doesn't matter the side. they love a good fight and it's even better if it's for a good cause. they swore their oaths to the mand'alor and their people. they can be a little dense but not naive, and they believe in finishing every job they start. if the job ends up being terrible, well. you got them. they will find you and make you pay for it, they have a bit of a vengeful streak, but they WILL finish the job unless it contradicts the resol'nare. their instincts are sharp and they can be dangerous, especially if they're fixated on a hunt. never to people they care about, but sometimes... those cat-like instincts to play with their food can override their common sense.
oh and they're about as force sensitive as a brick but like many mandos they experience BIG EMOTIONS and project LOUDLY. they aren't scared of the force or anything, they'll relate it back to force sensitive mandalorians or the manda. They don't see it the same way as jedi as sith, more like... I think the translations would be star-touched or stars-wrath, depending on if you're using the force purposefully or hurting yourself or others on accident.
