I stood up from organizing models & the skeleton's hand got caught in my hair. Is this bc I knocked your jaw off once?? It took awhile to get free #labstuff
I love looking at cells under a microscope. Does anyone else do baby talk to their cells? I’ll say things like: “Look at you guys. Y’all look so beautiful. Y’all look great. Good job!”
So like... this is the clock we have in my lab...
Literally my entire PhD so far

I took a video of my bacteria (the tiny dots moving around) swimming around my macrophages (the big blobs).
My life has been macrophage infection assays recently. Ask me questions about the gentamicin protection assay, if you need help! I’ve troubleshooted a lot!
Oh so we're putting puns in review articles now HUH?!
Today, I was so sloppy with an experiment. Part of it was just accidental, part of it was conscious foolish decisions. That was my first experiment of the day, so I decided I needed to take a breather and step away for a bit, so I wouldn’t spoil the rest of the experiments.
Lunch and a bit of Animal Crossing later, and I was refocused and ready. I got the rest of the experiments done without a hitch!
My professor told me sometimes you need to step away for a bit to break that cycle of making mistakes. This was after a period where I kept spilling stuff and felt helpless. She told me she had a similar experience in her PhD where she kept breaking glassware in a short period of time, and her PI told her the same thing. So I stayed away from lab for a couple of days, and when I came back, no more spills! Still haven’t spilled since!
