Hoard - are you a hoarder? how does this affect your MOGAI identity? if you collect terms, how do you organize them?
We& tend to prefer the term 'collector' to not get mixed up with our disordered hoarding, but yes. On a collective identity level we&'re arguably a collector, though it's not something we consider hugely important, and some individual members are collectors as well
I, Venn of SFF, don't consider myself a collector, but I have a collection. The difference to me is that I don't purposefully seek out new things, but I will pick up labels I happen to come across that fit, and if I'm experiencing something notable that I don't already have a word for I will seek it out or coin it (as an aside, I've noticed that I'm more likely to actually sit down and coin things and/or make flags than a lot of other fronters are, hence why we&'ve posted more coined terms this past week than we typically do lmao)
We& tend to be very deliberate when it comes to collecting terms. We like to sit and mull over them for a while, figure out the 'how's and 'why's of different labels. It does mean we can get real picky with it, sometimes hemming and hawing over something for far longer than we need to do so, guess that's the perfectionism at play. That can get frustrating, but different alters will leave their own notes and opinions on labels we&'re questioning for collective identity and that can help with sorting it out
Organization-wise... I personally have them sorted into 'gender', 'mental illness and fictive stuff', 'orientation', and 'presentation'. A lot of them stand on their own within those categories, but gender-wise I've got five top-level labels (oune, trans man, outhoy, עצמאית / atzema'it, and contaversian) and put further elaboration underneath those. Under oune, for example, I got oune⿸ / oune(dottuare) which is one of my main gender experiences, but I also got mongenerix, nephelous, 🍸🦋gender, lantafel. Not all of those are inherently outherine, but they're experienced in an outherine way for me, and ultimately they wouldn't apply to me if I weren't an oune
Peeking at the collective identity label list... oh we got a lot of categories okay. 'Alterhumanity & species', 'body', 'disability', 'gender', 'misc', 'names', 'orientation', 'plurality', 'presentation & perception', 'pronouns', 'race & ethnicity & nationality', 'referential language', 'religion', 'vesility', 'vior', and 'xenoids'. I could not for the life of me tell you why they're sorted that way, I just do not know
