"A curse?" asked Wesker curiously. One could devolve, too. Those that would become inefficient, ones that would die out because only the strongest would survive. But even the smallest of creatures could still evolve to outwit their prey.

Wesker made a noise of amusement from the back of his throat. "A rather bleak outlook on life, if you ask me. That is where humans fail. They form emotions, and ignore the instinctually driven will to survive. It is a fatal flaw." Animals survived because they did what it took without attachment and emotions. Like a parasite that ate at the host. But even parasites would die without hosts. They needed the perfect balance, which was exactly what Wesker had succeeded in.

Wesker's expression remained cool, eyes hidden beneath his sunglasses. They were above petty things like human love. The two of them were evolved beyond that. But Wesker understood deeply what it was like to also feel used, as a tool for Umbrella, as a tool for Spencer, to do his dirty work. For Albert Wesker knew no such thing as love in his life either, just a fleeting sense of comfort in someone else's arms for a short period if time.

No relationship has never lasted, and he could have easily said that they were not worthy of his attention, but the truth was he may as well be incapable of something he had never known himself.
