You hummed to yourself as you scooped fresh coffee grounds into the machine and pressed brew. It was cold in the house and all you were wearing was Kylo’s black sweater because it was the closest piece of clothing to your side of the bed when you had woken up. You shifted your weight back and forth on each foot, the tile freezing your feet.
Comfortable clothes littered the floor in a trail back to your bedroom, a casualty of Kylo picking a boring movie and you deciding a hot late night shower was needed. You bit your lip and smiled to yourself at the memory.
Opening the cupboard, you went to pull out two mugs but then thought better of it and grabbed the lidded thermos mugs. You had a feeling Kylo was going to want to indulge in his usual very, very lazy Saturday morning routine, meaning the mugs would need to keep the coffee hot.
After fixing your coffee and pouring straight black coffee into Kylo’s mug you padded back into your shared bedroom and set the mugs on your nightstand. Kylo was still sound asleep on his stomach, turned towards your side of the bed. Smiling softly, you climbed back under the covers and put your head next to his on the pillow.
Even after several years together, and countless times memorizing his face like this while he slept, Kylo still managed to make your breath catch in your throat with how gorgeous he was.
His full lips were parted just slightly, his breathing relaxed and even as he slumbered peacefully for once. His eyelashes dusted his cheeks, occasionally fluttering in his sleep. His prominent and commanding nose looked particularly kissable against the black pillowcase. His normally wavy black hair was more of a tousled mess as a result of his sleeping on it wet, but you loved it all the same.
Your eyes carefully took in each freckle and mole and that graced his face. You swore you had them memorized at this point, but you would never turn down an opportunity to study them, recommitting them to your memory.
Without realizing it you brought a hand up and used your index finger to trace the scar that started just off center on his forehead, running down diagonally below his eye, his cheekbone, the side of his neck, and his chest. It was the result of an accident Kylo had been in when he was 20, and though you had only known him with the scar and repeatedly told him how beautiful you thought it was, he was still incredibly self conscious of it.
Your touch made Kylo stir beneath you, but he pushed his face back into the pillow to return to sleep. You laughed softly at him. “Kylo,” you cooed. “Time to wake up, Baby.” He groaned in response, blinking at you but quickly closing his eyes again.
You giggled next to him. Sleepy Kylo was always nearly too much for you to handle. He was adorable and silly and needy. His voice would inevitably be an octave lower, thick with sleep and drawn out words.
“I brought you coffee,” you sang, trying to gently coax him back to consciousness.
“Hmm,” and a long breath out through his nose was all you got in response. You smirked at him, knowing exactly what would wake him up.
You slid yourself just a bit closer to his naked body before pressing your icy feet into his calves.
“Fucking Christ!” His eyes shot open as he ripped his legs away from you and you suppressed a laugh, removing your feet from him. He glared at you in mock anger before pushing you onto your back and crawling on top of you so he could rest his head against your chest.
You tilted your head and looked down at him. “Oh no Sir, don’t you go back to sleep.”
He nuzzled his head into your chest and brought a large hand up to cover your mouth. “Shhh. I’m tired.”
You scoffed into his hand and pressed a kiss to his palm before easily removing it with your own hand. “Alright, fine. As long as you stay like this for cuddles.”
Kylo hummed into your chest. “Like listening to your heartbeat,” he murmured, voice exactly as you thought it would be: thick and laced with sleep.
“I know you do Baby.” You brought a hand to his head and used your fingers to brush through it, nails scratching his scalp. Kylo pushed his head back into your hand and sighed contentedly.
“Love it when you do that,” he said, clearly torn between going back to sleep on your chest under your touch, and waking up for sleepy cuddles with you.
You smiled. “I know that too my Love.”
Kylo nodded into your chest before taking in a deep breath and yawning. “Alright. I’m awake.”
You acknowledged him with firmer scratches to his scalp. Kylo responded by completely burying his face in your chest before pulling up to look at you. “Why are you wearing this?” His hands found the hem of his sweater and pushed it up you slightly.
“Because as my feet may have told you it was quite chilly when I got up to make us coffee and this was the first piece of clothing I stumbled upon.”
Kylo sighed dramatically before sliding down you and dipping his head under the shirt, planting kisses up your tummy and chest as he pulled the sweater up. You helped him, pulling it up and over your head, returning it to its earlier place on the floor as he kissed up your neck.
His lips hovered against yours. “Good morning, beautiful.” He smiled at you and pressed a kiss to your lips.
You returned the smile against his lips. “Morning, handsome.” His hands grabbed your hips and squeezed. Knowing what he was asking for you pushed yourself up and adjusted the pillow so you could lean against the headboard comfortably.
“Thank you.” Kylo rubbed his nose in figure eights against your tummy, his hands squeezing your sides. “So soft,” he mumbled into you, “I love it.” His hands travelled your body and squeezed parts of you he knew you weren’t fond of. “I love your body,” he planted more kisses on your tummy before looking up at you. “I love you.”
You shook your head at him softly as you bit your lip. “I love you too.” He crawled up you to steal another kiss from your lips. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you, Ky.”
Kylo rolled his eyes, supporting himself on his elbows as he hovered over you. You began tracing his scar again. “Must have been something pretty terrible,” he teased.
It was your turn to roll your eyes. You placed the finger that had been tracing his scar over his lips. “I’m serious.” You raised your eyebrows at him and nodded, dropping your voice to a whisper. “Thank you. For loving me.”
Kylo pressed a kiss to your finger and spoke against it. “You make it easy baby. You’re very easy to love.” He quickly opened his mouth and gently bit your finger, playfully growling at you.
You beamed at his sweetness and pulled your finger from his mouth, running your hand through his waves. “Your hair is rather… tousled this morning,” you observed, struggling to keep a straight face.
Kylo dropped his head back to rest on your tummy, shrugging. “Always is when I sleep on it wet.”
“Let me braid it.”
Kylo looked up at you, and smirked. You both knew that he knew braiding his hair was one of your favorite things. Without saying anything he sat up between your legs and turned around.
You straightened up, handing him his mug of coffee before fishing a couple of small elastics from your nightstand drawer and sliding them on your pinky before combing your fingers through his hair.
“Thank you,” Kylo murmured, holding up the cup of coffee before taking a long sip. He relaxed into your touch. You both also knew that you knew having his hair braided by you was one of his favorite things.
You started with a braid on the left side of his head, your fingers deftly weaving his hair together, and securing the braid with an elastic as you reached the end of his crown. As you started on the middle braid Kylo spoke.
“Do we have any plans for the day?”
You thought about it and shook your head lightly. “No, not really. Just usual weekend stuff.” You secured the elastic around the middle braid and started on the right.
Kylo hummed and sipped his coffee. “So I can keep you in bed all day?”
You laughed at him. “Well, yes, I suppose you could do that.” You finished the right braid and ran your fingers through the ends of each of the braids, helping blend them into the curls that remained free.
“You’re all done Baby.” You tugged lightly on Kylo’s waves to let him know he was free. “Thank you for letting me.”
Kylo looked over his shoulder and handed you his mug so you could place it back on the nightstand. He turned back around, crawling over you and up to your lips.
“Anytime, my Love.” He pressed his lips to yours, tongue outlining your lower lip. You relaxed your lips for him and he slid his tongue in your mouth. Your hands ran up his arms and shoulders to cup his face. Both of you pulled back for a minute for air.
“You taste like coffee,” you told him, smiling at the man you loved so much.
Kylo smirked, his eyes darkening as he crawled back down your body. “Well, I guess I better find out what you taste like this morning.”
