Guess who got absorbed by a new fandom and wrote 30,000 words in four days because she was consumed by it...?

Mr Salvaterre,
Sorry. I’m not sure what I’m meant to call you. I hope you’re a Mr.
You said I could write to you if I had any questions about my heritage. I’ve got one, but I’m hoping it’s not a stupid one.
Do I get Fae fangs as a demi-Fae? I thought not, but both my canines just fell out for the second time, and there’s something else growing. Not sure if that’s a demi-Fae thing, and my Ma couldn’t find anything about it in her books. Hoping you’ve got a better idea than we do.
Also, I used a forward thrust on my friend Kyllian last week. Think I got it right this time. Thought you might want to know.
Aedion Ashryver.
(AKA; Lorcan finds a young Aedion in the Bane camps. They build a relationship over the years, and eventually find a dynamic that suits them both)

"My new aesthetic is the Bane deciding Aedion needs to rest, and so they just toss him from person to person till he takes the hint and goes to get some sleep." Can you plz write this!!! I would love it and it sounds sooo funny!
I’m FINALLY catching up on asks.
Are some of them over two years old? Yes. Don’t judge me.

Gavriel has many habits. He’s a man of routine - wake up, eat, train, work, and so on. Of course, those routines have been up in the air as of late with all the changes that have happened. Nowadays it’s more so wake up, deal with some shenanigans, eat, force the others to eat, join Aedion on a morning run, more shenanigans, and so on.
Falling back into a military routine while visiting the Bane is easier. The fact they’re helping clean up a recent avalanche isn’t all that good, and he’s freezing his fingers off while his son only needs to wear a light jacket, but he enjoys the familiarity of it all. There’s a purpose to every day. They shovel the snow, clear debris, and work on relocating the small amount of people who have damaged homes.
What he can’t work out amongst all the mess is where in Mala’s name his son is.
“Erickson!” Gavriel pushes through the snow towards the lieutenant, a large man wielding a shovel. “I heard Aedion was with you!”
He had hoped he’d be able to spend time with his son on this trip, the two of them busier than usual with Terrasen opening up new trade routes through Lysandra’s uncle and his merchant company. Instead, he hasn’t seen hide nor hair of his son. Granted, he’s enjoyed hearing stories from the members of the Bane - many of the inner circle knowing Aedion for years - but he’d enjoying seeing his son once this week.
“Gavriel!” Erickson grins, rakish and delighted as he props his tool against his shoulder, turning away from a pile of wreckage. “How are you? Keeping warm with those spare coats?”
Yes, Gavriel had to borrow an extra coat. He wasn’t raised in a cold climate like his son and most of the Bane members.
“Trying to keep the chill away,” Gavriel chuckles. “Have you seen Aedion?”
“Ah, he was with Lorrison, then he was passed onto me, but I just sent him to Smithy so he’s getting closer to his tent,” Erickson chuckles, scratching his beard. “How’s hoping we can shove him in there, eh?”
Hesitating, Gavriel raises a brow. “I… may be a little lost.”
“Oh!” Erickson snorts. “Guess no one filled you in. The general tends to,wear himself out, and when he does we just send him from person to person to tire him out while leading him back to his tent. Lorrison asked him for help setting up barricades, I had him shoveling snow, and I’m pretty sure Smithy asked him for help moving supplies. He should be dead on his feet soon enough, then Kyllian’ll shove him in the tent and stand guard.”
“That’s-“ Gavriel tries to scramble the words together. “You’ve done this before?”
“Ah, we help our own here,” Erickson smiles. “He does the same for us. It use to be easier though, back when he was with Kyllian. The two would just drag each other to bed-“
“Right, thank you,” Gavriel clears his throat. “I’ll-“
“Say, is Lysandra coming? She’s got a tight rein on him-“
“Thank you, Erickson!” Gavriel calls over his shoulder, heading towards the tents.
“Aye! He’ll probably listen if you tuck him in-“
Ignoring the laugh, Gavriel picks up the pace, wrapping his cloak tighter around himself as the sun sets and takes its warmth with it. The mountains are glorious, full of beauty and a wild, untamed spirit. As well as deadly creatures, frostbite, and a wind that’s like a knife through the chest.
(He may only volunteer for spring trips in the future.)
Aedion’s tent is easy to find - the Bane members had put Gavriel’s right next to it before whisking him away to tell stories. Their enthusiasm to have Gavriel in the camp is touching and funny every time.
As he reaches the tent, Kyllian exits, stopping once he sees Gavriel.
“Thank fuck,” Kyllian groans, tilting his head back. “Please go in there and make sure he stays down. He hasn’t slept in three days.”
“That’s why I haven’t seen him in the morning,” Gavriel sighs and rubs his eyes. “Thank you, Kyllian.”
“Good luck,” Kyllian pats him on the shoulder and trudges off, muttering about ‘stubborn bastards’ under his breath.
Walking into the tent, Gavriel snorts at the sight of his son buried under a pile of furs. A blue eye peeks out at him, irritation emerging in the form of a huff and shuffle.
“Are you aware your army has a method for getting you to sleep?”
Grumbling, Aedion buries his head in the furs. “Did you find that out while searching for another coat?”
They’re close enough now that Gavriel feels no fear in snatching a blanket from his son, laughing at the outraged cry that follows.
How would the RO’s react if, during a not so serious argument, the MC said, “You’re cute when you’re angry.”
Ezra/Elaria: They tilt their head. “I don’t quite know how to respond to that.” An almost amused smile ghosts across their lips. “Weren’t you mad at me a second ago? Is this some sort of trap?”
Caleb/Catherine: A flush takes over their cheeks, but the happy smile quirking their lips showcases how your words touched them. “Th-Thank you.”
Jaden/Jade: Sapphire blue eyes narrow playfully. “You’re quite a sight to look at yourself, sweetheart.”
Aidan/Aylin: They scoff, folding their arms over their chest. “If you think that’s going to distract me from the fact that I’m right, you have another thing coming.”
Faolan/Faolyn: A bright grin takes over their face at the words. Crimson eyes lightening exponentially as you gave them a reason to end the fight. “You’re quite cute yourself, moon.”
Laurence/Lauren: A light chuckle falls from their lips; emerald eyes glinting with warmth. “I know what you’re doing, darling, but I can’t say that I mind.”
Irithiel: She shakes her head in fond exasperation. “Only you, my love, only you.” Adoration fills her violet eyes; causing them to shimmer like precious gems. “You’re quite lovely too.”
Kyllian: He shakes his head, an unimpressed look etched across his face. “You won’t distract me, Anon. Not like you always do.”

I’ve been thinking of the Ancient One and his attitudes lately...
Although there’s this sense that magic has mysterious ways and, because of that, is allowed to be used as an excuse to justify his actions, I don’t think Yao was wise when he grew aware of Stephen’s importance.
Why? Because he deliberately manipulated people to “arrange” Stephen’s arrival. First, it was Anthony Ludgate. He was literally a test run for Yao to determine whether he was ready for Stephen or not.
Then, there was Mordo. The Ancient One KNEW Mordo had bad intentions since day 1 when he stepped into his monastery. But he needed Mordo to be Stephen’s opposite, a sort of reverse role model so Stephen would never fall into the temptation of dark magic.
Don’t get me wrong. Mordo saw that coming, he literally sacrificed his family in a ritual to Dormammu. Yet, if Yao was aware of Mordo’s second intentions, why didn’t he stopped his disciple? Why did he allow Mordo to keep spreading chaos and evil when he could certainly prevent that? Because he needed a bad opposite so Stephen could be good?
That’s not right. How many times has Stephen adopted disciples without any trace of manipulation? Clea was his first disciple. She was a refugee and, yes, she was special to Stephen. But in any moment he used his love as a weapon to keep Clea as a mere disciple, nor he used their love as a device for a magic plot. When she felt Stephen was holding her back and it was time for her to end the master-disciple relationship, he agreed. He never meant to harm Clea’s feelings. He didn’t plan her apprenticeship beforehand.
What about Rintrah? He took Rintrah in as a sign of good faith to Enitharmon the Weaver for recovering the Cloak of Levitation. He never used Rintrah or taught him for a greater fate. Kyllian? A total brat, yet Stephen was worried that brat would end up dead by his own inexperience so yeah, let’s teach Kyllian even though he will hate you forever. Casey? She was in trouble. She needed power. Illyana? She literally came from the future and asked for help, even though she couldn’t tell much about the future. Even though they were supposed to fight each other. Stephen declined? No. Of course, not. And don’t get me started with What If? and The End where they are literally father and daughter.
Anyhoo. Stephen is a disaster as a master? Yes. But at least he never manipulated people for a greater purpose. Because he knows, deep down, that it’s not his responsability to “build” someone so they can carry the burden of the Sorcerer Supreme. It’s not fair. He would never desire someone to go under such pain and loneliness. He feels all of it every single day. What kind of Sorcerer Supreme he would become if he was that hypocrite? I’m looking at you, Yao... I’m looking...
