“wha-   wait   what   did   i   do   this   time.”      he   looked   up   from   where   he   was   chilling   on   the   couch   -   he   couldn’t   be   angry   at   him   for   just   being   here,   right?   it   had   basically   become   the   silfer   hang   out   since   he   had   it   built.   though   it   was   jun   -   he   seemed   to   always   find   a   reason   to   snap   at   him.   he’d   usually   give   him   a   reason   !      it   was   more   fun   when   he   knew   what   he’d   done   to   provoke   such   a   reaction   from   his   friend.      had   he   found   out   about   pharaoh   sleeping   on   his   coat?      he   swore..   he   shook   as   much   of   the   cat   fur   off   as   he   could.   though   he   couldn’t   do   much   about   the   fleas..   

                                  ❝   i   know   ,   but   if   i   had   kept   an   eye   on   juudai   ,   then   we   might   not   be   in   this   mess.   i   knew   he   wasn’t   doing   well   with   ...   everything   that   happened   ,   and   with   johan   ...   i   shouldn’t   have   left   him   alone.   ❞    of   course   she   wanted   to   get   johan   back   ,    naturally   she   would   follow   juudai   into   any   danger   ,   so   they   could   all   come   out   of   it   unscathed   ,   to   fight   by   her   friends   side   ,   just   like   they   had   been   doing.    but   now   ,   juudai’s   only   focus   was   johan   ,   and   it   was   getting   them   all   into   serious   trouble.   there   was   regret   ,   hesitant   as   it   was ,   for   allowing   juudai   to   come   to   this   world   in   the   first   place ,   even   while   knowing   what   manjoume   said   was   true   ,   how   could   any   of   them   predict   this   outcome   ?    this   wasn’t   the   world   they’d   been   too   before   and   this   wasn’t   the   same   juudai   who   trusted   his   friends   enough   that   he   could   wait   for   them   ,   that   they   could   also   duel   and   win   ,   that   they   could   all   find   johan   together.    

you know what would be really neat? if you went back to america. forever. and never came back.

it   wasn’t   his   first   christmas   break   spent   at   the   duel   academy   sure   -   but   he’d   missed   even   more   classes   this   year   than   the   last   !   it   wasn’t   his   fault   the   lectures   had   gotten   even   more   boring   in   his   second   year.      but   that   did   mean   -   since   chronos   knew   he   wasn’t   visiting   his   family   again   this   year   -   he’d   prepared   a   novels   worth   of   catch-up   homework   for   him.   come   on,   where   was   his   holiday   spirit?      at   least   -   he   couldn’t   force   him   to   do   it   if   he   didn’t   know   where   he   was   !      which   is   why   he   was   heading   to   juns   dorm   -   it   was   large   enough   to   hide   him   for   the   entire   week.   it   was   perfect   !      back   pressed   against   the   door   to   make   sure   no   one   was   following   him   -   he   reached   for   the   door   handle.      before   he   had   the   chance   to   open   it   himself   -   he   was   falling   backwards   past   his   taller   friend   and   into   the   dorm.   landing   not   to   glamorously   onto   the   floor   -   ouch.   

When it came to these projects, Jillian was usually able to bully people into doing all the work for her. This way she could get a decent grade without putting in the time or effort. This time, however, things were different. He was one of the few students that had the balls to call her out on her behavior.

“Well, you’re a smart boy, I figured you didn’t need my help.”she replied nonchalantly. A hand was removed from it’s place on her hip as, violet eyes stared down at her black painted finger nails boredly. “And for the record, I had a valid reason for skipping class today.”

Her reasoning for skipping this class wasn’t actually valid at all. In fact, if a teacher found out, she was liable to get detention. Jillian may have stolen some spray paint from the arts classroom and she may have used it to do some art work by the docks.

She didn’t know what the project was about, he was right about that. Had she chosen to show up to class, she probably would’ve known. “I don’t know what the project is about. Do I care? Not really.”she shrugged her shoulders.

The thought of getting another bad grade was a bit concerning though. Jillian had been told that she needed to get her grades up and if not she was likely to get in trouble. She had a feeling a bad grade on this project would spell bad news for her.

Jillian let out a deep sigh. “Fine. I’ll entertain the idea. What’s the project about?”she relented.

he’d   declined   his   friends   offers   to   hang   out   again   that   day.   sure   -   it   was   nice   that   they   were   speaking   a   bit   more   these   days.   shou   even   joining   him   fishing   every   now   and   then   -   spent   mostly   in   silence   but   still.   the   company   was   nice.   but   he   still   wasn’t   ready   -   no   he   needed   to   maintain   a   certain   distance   from   them   all.      until   he   worked   himself   out   -   learnt   just   how   he’d   changed   with   the   fusion.   and   now   aware   of   the   darkness   that   resided   inside   of   him.   it   was   for   their   safety.   forced   smile   falling   of   his   face   as   soon   as   his   dorm   door   was   closed   behind   him   -   taking   most   of   the   sunlight   with   it.      deciding      to   spend   the   rest   of   his   day   napping   in   the   dimly   lit   dorm   -   well   he   would   if   pharaoh   would   stop   hissing.   he   should   be   used   to   the   rats   by   now   !   even   if   they   sometimes   got   as   large   as   him..         “   pharaoh   !   keep   it   down   !   .”         annoyed   he   peaked   out   from   the   bottom   bunk   to   glare   up   at   the   cat   walk   -      what.      how.      huh   ?      eyes   widened   at   the   sight   -   of   his   friend.   dressed   impossibly   nicely   -   considering   his   usual   tattered   coat.      somehow   balanced   on   pharaohs   walkway.      a   million   questions   past   though   his   mind.   just   how   has   he   even   gotten   up   there   ?   and   why   ?
