yeah idk why the music for rainy g-corp is so quiet either
See, this just comes off as sarcastic xD
Yuna had like, several billion yen from playing the stock market in the old world, which translates into a ridiculous fortune in this world.
For context, at one point she bought a plot of land in the capital in a rich neighborhood and she was asked to pay upfront because the merchant guild master didn’t think she’d have enough.
That was only a fraction of Yuna’s total worth. This wouldn’t even be the last time she dumped a ton of money on a property either.
Considering her life up to that point, I can’t really blame her for answering this way.
Basically, her parents are lazy fucks who are constantly on luxury vacations on their father’s (and later their daughter’s) dime. Yuna was left to basically fend for herself. She couldn’t go to her uncles and cousins as her parents were kind enough to burn every bridge over the years and just assume Yuna is exactly the same as them. Her grandfather is the only one that saw her for who she really is, but she couldn’t live with him because of the drama, and because she’s grown stubborn in her loneliness. Just developed a real “I don’t need anyone” attitude.
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear isn’t about an OP female protagonist bulldozing through monsters like they are nothing, it’s about a lonely socially isolated teenager gaining a social life and finding people who love her for who she is. Honestly, I think the series is more enjoyable if you go into it with that premise in mind.

I love how this factor of magic is a large reason Yuna is OP.
Magic in the world plays HEAVILY into visualization, and that’s something Yuna from modern Japan has over literally everyone in the medieval-esque setting.
For example, ice magic users are incredibly rare in this universe because imagining something freezing is really hard to do when you have no idea why it’s happening. Meanwhile, we’ve seen sped up videos of ice forming, we know from school what causes ice to form. Because of that, we have a much easier time visualizing it and that’s why Yuna can use it so easily.
Same thing goes for lightning magic and healing magic. Someone in this old ass setting isn’t going to have an intimate knowledge on how lightning works or what the human body looks like on the inside. Curing diseases is high level holy magic here because no one but Yuna knows about bacteria and viruses. In fact, healing magic in general is incredibly rare in this setting.
Little did Fina know, that this was the moment that would redefine her life forever…
I find it funny the manga makes the moment more gay than the anime did considering the direction the anime goes ^^;;;;
The anime removed the bear simps.
