Sunday 11/15/2020 Coppell, TX Waking up in Coppell took longer than expected, but the two got out of bed and quickly went to the coffee maker. After making coffee, the two moved towards the pool where Chris was waiting with a smile. The three woke up around the pool with a second round of coffee and Jayden joined with a spring in his step. Around noon, Chris, Hannah, and David got in a swanked out Honda and drove into the heart of Dallas. After finding parking, they started to walk to Katy’s Trail Ice House only to get lost in the beautiful pedestrian paths which felt like something that could not be found in such a large city. After walking for a mile or so, the three found Katy’s without a second to spare, David was Hangry, but according to the thoughts going through his head, he was handling it well. After a quick 40 min wait spent people watching along the trail, which used to be a railroad, behind Katy’s Trail Ice House, we were seated, ordered a round of beer that came in “this is Texas, everything is large” goblets, and an order of chips and queso soon followed. For lunch, David ordered a chopped brisket sandwich (9/10 definitely the best brisket David has ever eaten,) Hannah ordered a burger (8/10 probably the best burger David has eaten,) and Chris ordered the “Hangover Burger,” which looked good, included a fried egg and bacon. But David did not try for the same reason he did not eat the pulled pork the previous night, he is wasn’t offered any. With full bellies and satisfied minds, we all headed back to the house to relax and chill before showering and heading to bed.
