why shouldn't you tell him? do you or your friends think he'd disapprove? your aunt may know him and his possible reaction better than your friends do so keep that in mind^^
ive got a friend in uni who really likes animanga. the thing is i really like silly stuff (sportmanga, classics, super random stuff) but she mostly reads more mature things (like ecchi or whatever?? tbh i dont even know the diffrence with all those terms). she knows, we talked about it when we met. but she just recced me sth she thought i might like (liar game) and it does sound interesting but also sort of serious and i guess im a bit uneasy about reminding her of my preferences? idk
Ah, there shouldn't be any good reason why you couldn't remind her that you prefer lighter stuff. One of my good friends on Tumblr doesn't like gore and stuff, which she told me back when I was big on Attack on Titan. She was kinda interested in the story, but it was a bit too intense and bloody for her.
BUT then I completely forgot about that and I tried to recommend Tokyo Ghoul because of how good it is, and she had to remind me that she doesn't like that kind of intense stuff. Your friend may have just simply forgotten that that's not the kind of stuff you're into.
Also, ecchi is like nudity and sexual stuff, but presented as a joke almost? LIke... imagine a girl running down a hall when her dress catches on something and rips it off, and she ends up turning around the corner and slamming face first into her crush in her underwear. It's basically that kind of stuff. At least from my understanding. I don't like ecchi /:
