KOAR

Koar (pronounced "core") is a vigilante persona belonging to a person of the same name. Koar became a vigilante after a lightning strike to the skull, losing one eye and turning the other entirely silver in colour. This also temporarily paralyzed both legs and made both lungs extremely weak, requiring a permanent respirator, stylized as a mask on the face. A wheelchair became a necessity, but eventually, with much physical therapy and patience, most strength was regained in both legs. As a child, and before the accident, Koar practiced ballet, and currently uses the agility and strength from those years in fighting the various evils that plague the Sleepverse.

For my fellow Dragon Age fans out there who are currently in quarantine, I’ve got a video game recommendation for y’all. If you haven’t played it yet, definitely consider Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It’s a great fantasy RPG that I played for the first time only recently.

Despite coming out in 2012 is has those fun cartoon graphics that were popular with Fable and is still quite enjoyable in 2020. The world is huge and fun to explore and the class system doesn’t force you into one kind of play style. There are the three skill trees, might, finesse, and sorcery, but you can multi-class with skills from all three. So you don’t have to just be a warrior or rogue, currently I’m a battle mage wielding flaming chakrams and feeling very xena.

Of course as a fan of Dragon Age I wish there were companions that followed you around, but there are still many interesting characters to meet in the story regardless. The only real negative to this game is that some of the really good loot can only be found randomly in chests scattered throughout the world. But even still I’ve found enough to keep my character looking good.
