Get rid of my yarnstash - Every knitter has this goal every year. My mom already made this harder by giving me some yarn from her stash. I don't necessarily have a huge stash but it is still making me anxious and I don't want to have big stash anyway. I already went through my stash and made some plans!
No impulse buying - I often don't use yarn, fabric or patterns I buy on impulse and that is honestly waste of money and resources. I don't do impulse purchases often but any is too much in my opinion.
Trying to enjoy fiber arts as much as possible - My other two goals seemed a little bit negative somehow so I wanted to add a positive one also. To me this means less test knits, I have done 3-4 testknits this year and two of them happened in the fall (the other one is still going on). They sucked out the joy from knitting a little bit because I had to finish the other project even though I would have liked to take a break from it. Other thing I have realized is that I only enjoy making wearable items. So maybe in 2026 I don't try to force myself to embroider a wall hanging or crochet a pillowcase.
I want to take part in Tour de Fleece - This year will be the first time I'm participating. I don't have more plans regarding Tour de Fleece yet but there's plenty of time.
One exciting plan I have is that I'm going to attend a historical sewing course! I'm planning on making 18th century clothing there. I don't really know much about the course yet but I would like to sew a shift and a vest/jumps and a petticoat if I have enough time (probably don't have time for all of those). The course is also making me nervous since it's weekly for two months and it's 40 minute drive away. Usually I'm so tired after work I don't have energy to do much. I have promised myself I don't have to attend every time but I will attend at least four times so it won't hopefully be too much. I've been thinking about sewing historically inspired pieces almost for two years and now is finally the time!!
I plied the last yarns of the year. I had forgotten that I had spun Polwarth and silk without sari silk so I plied two strands that had the sari silk with one white strand (or should I use the word single?). So I was able to get 240 meters. I found this blend difficult to spin consistent but it was fun regardless because of the colours.
