#knitting kit

I personally keep a really streamlined knitting kit, with only the bare essentials for the project as I am currently working on it. I generally don't feel the need to carry extra needles on me. A crochet hook is sometimes nice, but it's not necessary to have on you at all times. I have an issue with losing stitch markers, yarn needles, and these small wooden cable needles because they are so tiny (and I do not lose things). I was using a zipper quart plastic bag, but I don't like how excessively large it was to hold such small tools. It's how I lost some in the first place.

So. Altoids tin. It even fits a tape measure and is equally accessible and easy to use at home and on the go. Not free cause I'm not in the habit of eating Altoids, but close enough.

I have literally JUST enough black satin ribbon to line it with, and I can steal some more ribbon from last year's witch hat I made. This is going to be for my crochet and knitting bits and bobs. The first section is 2 pockets to hold my Altoids tin of stitch markers and my thread/yarn snippers. The second section holds crochet needles, and the third section is one large pocket I made specifically for circular knitting needle storage, but I could maybe use it for other bits and bobs too. Im officially my mother, but I'm not mad about it!
