I probably should have asked this waaay before, but here goes. I know the circumstances regarding Akashi and his two selves, but I always get confused on which one is "Bokushi" and which one is "Oreshi". By my speculations on what limited information I know about Japanese language xD "Oreshi" is the red eye/yellow eye Akashi? Or is that wrong-
Hi there! It’s totally never too late to ask. :)
Oreshi is actually the Akashi with both eyes red, while Bokushi is the one with red and yellow eyes. This came about because Oreshi addresses himself with the pronoun, ore, while Bokushi uses boku. Unfortunately, that gets lost in translation, since it becomes just I in English, so it understandably confuses many!
If it helps, you can think of Oreshi as Original Akashi - that might make it easier to remember? :D

So sometimes this motto is said to mean that one should keep the reminder of their defeat fresh so that they won’t lose sight of their goal (of vengeance is implied but the meaning is used more broadly these days for just ambition). Interesting stuff considering the backstory that Fujimaki’s comment implied.
