So. I am looking over the extra stuff for KNB. And like.
Who the heck thought it was a good idea to make Akashi a basketball club captain AND class representative AND student council president at the same time??? Its wayyyy too much pressure for someone this young, especially since we know that he didn't even get a break at home where he had to study EVEN harder. Its really a wonder Akashi didn't have his mental breakdown sooner with how much was pilled on his plate at such a young age.
there's something about fanon giving Kagami a mom and an overall good relationship with his parent(s) that annoys me.
No one take this the wrong way, I'm not saying that not having your parents around/not being on good terms with them is a personality trait, but there's a good chunk of Kagami's character that is based on "no one was here to raise me so I raised myself"; his sense of responsibility, his eventual maturity, his individualism and being so comfortable and capable while being almost completely alone.
And yes, I'm not saying wrong don't do that. It's more of a personal preference and/or pet peeve.

EDIT 2: Fukuda's birthday was incorrectly labeled as April 24th. It is actually April 26th.
EDIT 3: Realized I had some totals wrong for the birth months. Which of course made it complicated lol. May/June/July have an equal amount of characters born into each of them (10) as does December/January (3).
EDIT 4 (August 2025): Added a bunch more characters to the stats, including super obscure ones and adults, which brought the character pool from 74 characters to 94. I also added a bonus page that lists all the coaches/adult characters in age order! I didn't do their birthyears bc i thought that complicated things.
This chart doesn't include characters like Koganei Akane, Asahina Daigo, Mitobe’s sister, etc, because while we can guess their approx. ages, we were never given any canon birthdays and/or grade levels for them. :(

A General Timeline for Kuroko no Basket
back on my ballshit. i've wanted a concise timeline for knb for years, but it's hard to do. even this probably isn't super accurate, but I did my best to check every reference I could. I decided that being broader here by not including specific dates/years and simply breaking events down by months was the best way to go.
I didn't have the age graphics for the months of February and March because they'll remain the same as January's (until Momoi's 17th bday in May). The official calendar I'm referring to here by the way is this one from KuroFes. I hope you find this useful!

The emperor personality of Akashi's has this very "monster the adults created" energy and I love it. Because when you look at it, Akashi's second personality embodies every single idea he's been taught his whole life to adhere to. No emotions at all, just cold hard logic. Everything for the victory. He took everything the adults taught him and took it to the extreme. Pinning all of his self worth on the notion of always winning. Seeing losing as a fate worse than death. Though even then, he is still left with the care for his teammates, its just a twisted version of it. I always loved this portrayal of just how much of an influence the adults have in the crucial years of child's development.
