Star-Crossed Lovers (Klance Mermaid AU Concept)
The story takes place in a land of mythological creatures
Keith is a lava merman who lives in a volcano. Everything he touches burns instantly. He can only swim wherever lava flows
Near by the volcano is a sea, which is where Lance lives. Lance is a merman as well
Keith regularly swims to the edge of the volcano to look at the scenery around him. He always admired nature. The trees, the plants, the flowers, the water. And how after it rained a rainbow would form in the sky. Although the rain hurt him and he'd have to go back under the lava to take cover.
One day Keith swims to the edge of the volcano and looks down at the sea. There he see's a merman sitting on a rock. He is instantly captivated by the boy. With his shiny blue scales that shimmered in the light. His translucent fins. His sunkissed skin and how the beads of water rolled down. And how it looked like he was practically glowing in the light
Everyday Keith swims back to the same spot just to watch the merman of the sea. And he gets disappointed on the days he doesn't show
Lance was a merman who lived at the bottom of the sea with his large family. He often spends his days hanging out with his friend Hunk who was a merman with a golden yellow tail.
He isn't allowed to swim to the surface because it's dangerous. But he does it anyways because he's so fascinated by the land
One day the lava starts to flow from the volcano and Keith is able to swim down from the volcano. He gets a closer look at the ocean.
On that fateful day he meets Lance. Who is also very interested in Keith. The boys skin was dark and looked almost like stone. His skin has a few cracks in it, which it looked like hot magma flowed between the cracks. And his hair was fiery red, and his eyes glowed yellow
Keith is also entranced by Kance and he decides that Kance definitely looks better up close
Keith and Lance begin to spend everyday together. Eventually they begin to fall for each other
The only thing is that they can never touch. If Keith touches Lance he will burn, and if the water touches Keith it'll hurt him aswell
Keith can't follow Lance into the ocean and Lance definitely can't follow Keith into his volcano
They're so in love with each other but they can never be together
