I'm not an avid cook. Most of the time, I cook to survive. I need to accept that I can't do and be good at everything. So I make a priority list on what I wanna invest my time for. . . I'm not sure if you're agree with me that cooking takes time, but eating the food, take shorter time 😅. Yet I also know the importance of cooking my own food because I have my (flexible) dietary preference. I emphasise 'flexible' because I'm a flexitarian! :) . . So what I do is that I have a list of meal that I wanna cook. I choose a simple, quick to cook meal that makes me feel good about using my time to cook instead of doing other things (like weerrkk haha). I also have a habbit to cook extra portion, so I can eat it for both lunch and dinner. 1 cooking time for 2 meals, that's effective lol. . . One of my favorite meal to cook is #Kitcharee/#Kichari/#Kitchadi (different people pronounce it differently). It's a simple east to digest meal that is suitable for all body types. It's mixture between rice (ideally long grain type because it's low in GI/Glycemic Index) and split yellow mung bean. The marriage of rice and beans, as found in kitchari, has been providing the ten essential amino acids and making complete proteins for cultures around the world for thousands of years. For cultures that have subsisted on a plant-based diet, this marriage is often what allows their diet to be nutritionally sustainable. . . In my version of Kitcharee above, I mixed herbs and spices, and various veggies (in this photo I use root veggies, wakame seaweed, and kangkung/water spinach). . . Because of the enourmous benefit of Kithcaree, Ayurvedic detox use Kitcharee for their meal, 3 times a day because detox isn't only about pulling things out excessively, but also nourish it at the same time. Detox doesn't mean stress out the body until you get hungry. Because the fact is, if you're stress, you'll hold more fats. The more comfortable and calm you are with the detox process, the more fat you will burn :) . .
