'Arslan fixed his gaze on a single point. "Lord Kishward, I leave it to you." All eyes turned toward the former Grand General. Kishwardâs face was set in a look of keen intensity. Everyone present understood Arslanâs intent: to restore the honor Kishward had lost during the campaign to Gilan. Kishward was a composed man, yet his voice wavered slightly. âYour Majesty, to entrust such a grave responsibility to me...â âAre you refusing to obey my command?â Arslanâs tone was stern. Kishward lowered his head and pressed his clenched fists against the ground; then, Arslanâs demeanor shifted, and a smile broke across his face. âForgive me, Kishward. I had always wanted to say a line like that just once. This has nothing to do with favors or matters of honor. I wish I could provide you with more troops, but twenty thousand is the absolute limit. Furthermore, I can only spare five thousand cavalry. You are the only one capable of holding Soleymaniyeh with a force of that size.â'
Book 15. I do enjoy it when Arslan's sense of humour reveals itself!
By how it was described in the novels (not features in screencaps) it really felt like it was a brutal bloodbath when they got into the Keep of Saint Emmanuel. Could they possibly have declared/announced this earlier in the battle? Maybe not, maybe there's logistical reasoning behind it. Nonetheless, while I didn't feel so much for the mass suicides at the end of the battle (unfortunately), I did get the sense that the battle preceding was bloodier than its manga counterpart. Sometimes I do have to wonder things like this.
Arslan you are so funny.
JEBDIDHDISH GUISCARD?!
Why... did you want to know, Guiscard? Does the truth matter? The truth is what you paint it as, no? True or no, you can use it for propaganda, right?
God I sound like Andragoras. Ew.
I must say that Guiscard is a character I don't really... get.
I kinda wanna know how these things are used... I suppose it doesn't matter, the description is just there for Vibes, but still.
I want the deets, Tanaka.
âthese words shone with a great lightâ is such an ironic description, I'm not gonna lie.
So this is where Parsians thought Rukhnabad came from! Taking notes, taking notes... (I have AU Thoughts⢠but not enough brain juice to elaborate immediately, maybe if somebody asks about it...)

I hadn't read chap 115, and so I didn't know there were those awesome pannels with Sam!! He's so COOL and BADASS.
Hilmes is being a dumb ass!! Sam just wants to protect him from the awful truth that, he knows, will shatter Hilmes' world and beliefs. Look at how distressed he is when having a flashback of his conversation with Andragoras...
I also liked to see the look Kubard has on his face when admitting that Sam joined Hilmes. There is never contempt or anger, he just knows Sam too well to understand the pain and reasons behind this decision.
And yes Lord Sam is fucking too good to die, to cry out loud !!!
It also tears me apart to know that IT IS ABSOLUTELY OBVIOUS that Arslan would pardon him for giving his allegiance to Hilmes, and would allow him to live and regain his honor at his side. LET THIS MAN BE HAPPY FFS đ
Also, it is interesting and quite touching that neither Kubard nor Kishward want to cross swords with Sam. In the anime Kishward do fight against Sam, though reluctant.
In a fight, I think both would win against Sam, Kubard has more brutal strenght and Kishward looks more skilled at close combat. But I picture Kubard as unable to bring himself to kill his old friend. A defeated Sam would tell him to end his life, but as I see it, Kubard would both spare him and ask him to live.
What do you think would happen ? Tell me about it !
PS : I also like that Sam refers at Husrab as "somebody I know", and not "old comrade" like the sorcerer suggested. Can't picture Sam being pal with a slimy cunt like Husrab.
i very much like Daryun but Kishward is, like, 100% My TypeÂ
Why didnât anybody tell me Vol. 8 was out in English already. I remember reading on Amazon that the release date was September.Â
Oh well, this is not a complaint!
