Help, can someone who's read the ArSen manga with a more Daryun-centric eye than me tell me when he got that necklace of his? Or like, when he's first seen wearing it? I feel a bit cheeky asking quickly rather than checking myself but I know one of you is going to know!

Quick question: is it specified in the novel for how long Daryun has been away in Serica?
Hello! According to the Guidebook, Daryun went to Serica in the year 317 (so he would have been around 24 years old).
Narsus leaves Andragoras' court in the same year.
There is nothing to indicate that this Serica mission lasted longer than a year, at least the guidebook timeline does not specify a return date.
The year 320 is when the novel begins with the Battle of Atropatene.
I hope this helps!

One thing I really appreciated in chapter 148 was that Arakawa really minimised how much had to be shown of Daryun attacking mind-controlled Parsians.
I adore Daryun on the battlefield. I love seeing him tear through enemy lines, covered in "their blood, sire". Some of my favourite panels are Daryun leading the charge. Daryun fighting is a highlight for me. Might be my favourite fictional violence, tbh.
But this chapter 148, Arakawa deliberately kept it to this panel:
From behind, not a full page, no visible face.
And I just think it shows a lot about how to frame actions and how this is not a glorious moment. No one wants to be here, not even the reader. And yet here we are.

Some years ago Yoshimasa Hosoya came to Chile and I made these as stickers for him. I love his work y__y
