Memories and knowledge were things that Kyouko had always believed would fill her with certainty and perhaps a spark of joy. When they had first been returned to her, the thoughts themselves felt alien. Unnatural, perhaps just figments of the young girl's imagination, created by the Future Foundation. It took a lot of encouragement and coaxing before she allowed herself to link her previous recollections to the ones she had received, acknowledging them as correct and untainted.

But, of course... Even with the joy of the missing pieces of the puzzle being found and reconnected in her mind, the former detective felt a hint of remorse. Not towards her estranged father, whom she had mourned for just a little over a year ago at the first return of her memory, but to someone else. Someone she no longer knew existed, until his reappearance kickstarted another missing piece of her memory.

Every time her violet hues fell upon his tanned frame and green hues, she felt her heart sink just the tiniest bit. The current situation was no variant either, trained eyes watching as he mused about whatever was taking place in his conversation.

Was this... Jealousy? No...

It was just reminiscing.

"What's wrong, Kirigiri-chan?"

Her attention was soon diverted from Hinata's contagious smile to a bob of brunette hair, tied in an gravity-defying ponytail. Azure eyes blinked in curiosity as they waited for Kirigiri's response, greeted with a small, unreadable smile, before she allowed her gaze to drift back to the male in question.

"Nothing. We just used to date, that's all."

Silence blanketed the room as soon as the statement was made, Asahina seemingly deep in thought, as if she wasn't sure what to say. The silence was interrupted once more almost simultaneously, a sudden, ecstatic tone befitting of the former swimmer taking up the empty space of the conversation.

"Oh! Well, why don't you just tell him? I'm sure he'd be really happy to hear that!"

All that the lilac female could respond with was a bemused chuckle, her eyes not leaving the boy's frame or conversation that she wasn't a part of. Another silence followed, leaving the swimmer in what Kyouko could only suppose was confusion.

"Because there are some things... That don't need to be remembered. I'd much rather him have the bliss of ignorance towards our previous relationship, than to remind him and have him feel pressured into re-establishing it."

She swiveled on her heel, each one clicking gently on the ground as she began to depart from the window and her friend.
