this is an interesting topic to cover as peko killed mahiru. forwarding to chapter 1 and to early chapter 2, tomona thought that she was somewhat heroic too like they shared the same brain as they are both willing to protect anyone. however the only thing is, tomona thinks fuyuhiko is making her do these tasks and taking advantage of her protectiveness and is a bad influence.

now onto chapter 2, tomona is in distraught. why did it have to be mahiru? once they all found out peko was the culprit, tomona becomes vulgar. calling her a crazy bitch when she acted as sparkling justice. its not nice of her to say that but considering she lost a friend to someone who she thought shared the same brain as her, yeah i suppose the name calling is kind of valid. the sparkling justice act that peko put on, tomona was mad. she thought it was rather unjustifiable and revengeful, same applied with fuyuhiko. and when she heard about what mahiru had done, she denied that mahiru could never do that.

tomona doesnt hate anyone in this situation, shes just so distraught and i guess all her anger was pent up due to the fact that mahiru cared about her wellbeing too. see, tomona was stressed after the 1st trial, mahiru acknowledged her saviour complex and told her to go with the other girls just to have fun. this caused her to become more stressed (just imagine her in chapter 3 omg). she even calls her out:

TU: "It's not justifiable.... It's revengeful..."

PP: "...Huh?"

TU: "I get it...! Technically... Her friend... My friend... Whoever she was...! Killed his sister!"

TU: "BUT GODDAMN IT!! Mahiru was just probably shaken!"

TU: "She didn't actually hurt her or kill her!? That's probably why she said that!"

TU: "She instinctively defended her! Even though it was morally wrong!"

TU: "And I understand! You were brought up as a 'tool'... I'm sorry. I don't know whether to blame you or not..."

TU: "But you call that *justice*?! You crazy bitch! Are you out of your mind?!"

PP: "..."
