EDELWEISS -- what was the bravest moment in your muse’s life ?  are they known to be courageous from then on ? 

          It’s so difficult to pick just one moment because see, I think, Sansa is always brave, and I say that because I know that Sansa is always afraid, and yet she puts herself out there and does the thing anyway, whether it be facing Joffrey or sitting with Cersei or generally just existing in King’s Landing the entire time she was there. Moments that stand out to me are when she interfered on behalf of Ser Dontos Hollard and saved him from being drowned in wine by Joffrey. She could easily have just sat there and looked away while this drunkard was being murdered, but Sansa said something at the very real threat of incurring Joffrey’s wrath, just so the knight would be spared. There was also that scene with Margaery, where Sansa knew that saying something might cost her her safety and well-being, because you never knew who was listening in on conversations, but Sansa warned Marge about Joff anyway, saying, “ “Margaery, please,” she said, “you mustn’t.” It was hard to get the words out. “You mustn’t marry him. He’s not like he seems, he’s not. He’ll hurt you.” 

         I think that every time we meet Sansa, she’s displaying some form of bravery. It’s not the conventional kind of bravery that involves fighting or equally grand gestures, but it’s bravery nonetheless, because the entire time she was away from her family. she was scared. But Sansa never once broke down under the pressure of that fear. She took every hurdle thrown at her with dignity and overcame them with quiet bravery and surprising maturity. Tyrion (in the show, I think?) recognized this as well, as evidenced by him saying that iconic line: Lady Stark, you may survive us yet.

IRIS --  if your muse could convey one last message to someone they have lost or left behind ,   what would it be ?  

          I think Lyanna was able to say a few words to Ned before passing away, so in a world where she’s dead, she would want to say something to Benjen and Jon. Benjen is such a significant part of Lyanna’s life -- and yes, all her brothers are important to her and much beloved, but I think it was Benjen she spent the most time with and was generally closest to because they were closer in age. I think she would want to tell Benjen why she ran away, because this was one of the few secrets Lyanna kept from him. Benjen knew almost all of Lyanna’s secrets -- he knew she was the Knight of the Laughing Tree because per my headcanon, her armor was courtesy of his scrounging. But this one secret about the prophecy and about the role she was to play in it and about Rhaegar, she didn’t dare tell Benjen about any of that. She hated the fact that Benjen didn’t know, that she violated this sort of unspoken code between them that they wouldn’t hide anything from each other by hiding this from him. Lyanna really did feel like she owed Benjen that honesty and she regretted not being able to tell him. 

          As for Jon, I think Lyanna would want him to know that he was loved and that it wasn’t her choice to leave him. Her last moments were filled with anxiety for her son and it was relieved by Ned, yes, but I don’t think it was relieved completely. Lyanna simply took what she could get at the moment and put her faith in her brother, but there was so much she wanted to say and do for her son that she will never have the opportunity to.

It’s been a long time since Odette has visited Winterfell. Last time, she was so young that she can barely remember anything. It was under happier circumstances, though. A friendly visit with her father and brother to their liege lords. Now, though, she’s come for protection after her father’s murder. If she’d had a choice, she would’ve stayed in her home, help her brother take over as Lord Kaiser, but she wasn’t given a choice. Eyan had insisted, ordered, that she go to Winterfell until he was sure it was safe for her to return.

          THERE WAS A HARD EDGE TO HIS VOICE that brooked no argument, that tolerated no uncertainty as to the weight of his words. Sansa looked at her brother’s eyes -- the same Tully blue as her own -- and nodded, taking his hands in hers and squeezing gently. For many sleepless nights, she had longed for this moment, to be reunited with Robb and to be safe in his presence once again. At times, she had to pinch herself as a reminder that it was real, that she was no longer a prisoner in King’s Landing so far away from her family.

         But the struggle was far from over. Sansa hated to think about the battles Robb had before him, about the Lannisters and their armies marching down to threaten the fragile peace she had with her brother and mother. She thought of the people they trusted and who had betrayed them for a bit of power, and she felt a simmering anger rise from her belly, scorching her from the inside. “I want them all to pay,” Sansa whispered in a voice harsh and lovely. Tears were filling the brim of her eyes, and she swiped at them angrily with the back of her hand. “-- for what they did to us. I want this stupid war to be over and I want everyone to leave us alone.
