Do you have a uterus? This post is for you.
I have a lot of feelings about the Kindara app and I want to tell you about them.
If you have a uterus, you should seriously consider using the Kindara app and I’m going to tell you why.
Everything I know about my reproductive health I learnt using this app and the resources links in it. Everything. The bullshit, glossed-over spiel they told us in “Sex Ed” at school was woefully insufficient for myself and so many of my peers. Uneducated and unaware about what is going on in our bodies EVERY SINGLE DAY meant that irregular periods were the bane of my adolescence, and they continued to plague my adult life. Until I downloaded this app.
You might think, “But Eva, isn’t this app for people who want to make babies? Why would I need to know when my fertile days are?”
You’re not wrong; this app can help you track when you are fertile, and that can help you choose your baby-making days if that’s your thing, BUT did you stop to think that you can also use it to do the EXACT OPPOSITE?
If you know when you’re fertile, and you absolutely DO NOT WANT to be pregnant, you are now armed with the knowledge to protect yourself. You can choose not to have sex, you can take extra precautions, and if you do have sex and your period is late you will know within a week, which gives you the power to do whatever is most appropriate for your situation.
But that is just a small part of it. Let’s talk about periods.
Your menstrual cycle is just that: a cycle. It’s always happening. Every day, little changes are occurring that affect your body and your mood. There are fantastic resources that you can click through on the app to learn about each stage of this cycle, and the signs to look for in your own body to tell where you are.
This is going to change your life.
If you track your period on the handy calendar every cycle, after enough data has been collected the app will begin to ACCURATELY PREDICT YOUR PERIOD. Not this “28 day” bullshit they told you about in grade 6, but YOUR period based on the length of past cycles. This means NO MORE SURPRISE PERIODS, catching you unaware and unprepared.
“But Eva,” you say, “I already track my periods and they’re all over the place. I don’t think my cycle is the same length every time.”
Fear not friendo, for you can still predict your periods. Do yourself a favour and learn about your cervix. If you learn to read the signs your cervix is throwing out, you will know even without a calendar exactly where you are in your own special snowflake cycle.
Some more reasons why Kindara is awesome
It’s free to download
It’s 4 digit passcode lockable; your annoying brother won’t be able to open it (and why isn’t your phone locked anyway, hmmm?)
There’s a “journal” option which lets you record your own notes on days (good for recording “symptoms” that don’t have a tick box on the app)
You can get it for both iOS and Android
And here's a link to the Kindara site
Seriously, we are taught frustratingly little about this incredible thing that happens to our ovaries and uterus and we need to teach the truth about our bodies so there is less fear and anxiety about something most people in possession of a uterus will have to deal with for so much of their lives.
This has been a PSA
🤞🏼
What does it meeaaaan !?? (I just ordered a digital thermometer so I can start tracking my basal temp also)

She licks her lips with a smirk, mming slightly. "It's really good kindaichi~" She shot him a look before resuming to eat what was on her plate. -arana
He sighed in relief onceyou started eating again and finished his own food a couple of minutes after, the blush on his face completely gone now. “Where do you want to go next?”
"Hmm sure~." She turned to him, a smile on her lips as she opened her mouth slightly. "Feed it to me kindaichi-kun~!" She giggle, looking up at him happily. -arana
“O-Okay.” Withuncertainty, he scoops a bit of his food onto his spoon and shakily feeds it toyou, his face still completely red when you pull your lips away. “H-How is it?”
"Will do~!" She giggled and she leaned and gave him a peck on his cheek, starting to eat her food while humming happily. -arana
“Y-You…” He stutters andstares at you eating, his eyes wide and jaw slack as he still feels your lipsagainst his cheek. If he isn’t completely red before, then he is now. Slowly,he picks up his utensils, his hands shaking as he takes his first bite. “D-Doyou want to taste my food?”
