Aoba Johsai
Dating the boys but you're their team manager?
+Bonus how would they react if you kissed them after a match in front of the team (if that's ok)
No that’s not ok ha. Kidding I’ll do team by team!!
Dating Aoba Johsai Members As Their Team Manager
———
Oikawa Tooru
Dating Oikawa while managing the team is a lot. He flirts with you constantly, but since he flirts with everyone, the team barely reacts anymore.
Still, he loves the little moments when you check in on him, like refilling his water bottle or scolding him for overworking himself.
“You’re too good to me, sweetheart~” (Cue Iwaizumi throwing a towel at his face.)
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match? Oh, he absolutely soaks it up. He smirks and flexes in front of everyone like, “Yeah, I just won AND I got the best reward.”
Iwaizumi looks like he wants to throw him off the court.
Iwaizumi Hajime
He’s the ideal boyfriend/athlete. He takes his training seriously, but he always makes time for you.
He secretly loves seeing you in the team manager role. He finds it really attractive that you’re so organized and dedicated.
He won’t admit it, but when you’re focused on something, he catches himself just watching you like a lovesick fool.
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, he malfunctions for a second. His face goes bright red, and he just stares at you like, Did you really just do that in front of everyone??
The team loses it—especially Oikawa, who will never let him live it down.
Kyoutani Kentarou (Mad Dog)
At first, he acts like he doesn’t care that you’re the manager. “Tch, whatever.” But secretly? He loves it.
He respects that you can keep up with the team, and he actually listens when you tell him to calm down.
If anyone disrespects you, he’s immediately on sight mode.
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, he freezes. He turns bright red, glares at everyone like “Say something and die.”
The team explodes with laughter because they’ve never seen him speechless before.
Hanamaki Takahiro
He flirts with you a lot, but it’s mostly to annoy Oikawa.
If you’re ever stressed about managing the team, he’s the first one to say, “Come on, let’s ditch practice. Oikawa won’t even notice.” (You don’t, but he tries.)
Secretly adores when you baby him, like handing him a towel or fixing his jersey for him.
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, he grins like an idiot and immediately goes, “Whoa, I should play like that more often.”
The team groans, but he winks at you like, “No take-backs, babe.”
Matsukawa Issei
Dating him means constant sarcasm and inside jokes. The team just accepts that you and Mattsun are always whispering about something.
He loves pulling you beside him when you’re sitting on the bench, just to see if Oikawa or Iwaizumi will yell at him.
If he sees you stressed, he gives you lazy hugs and says, “C’mon, manager duties can wait. Let’s go bother Oikawa.”
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, he acts like it’s no big deal but his ears go pink.
“Damn, I should lose focus more often if that’s the reward.” (Cue Iwaizumi smacking him.)
Yahaba Shigeru
Yahaba is so soft for you. He tries to act cool, but everyone sees right through him.
If you remind him to hydrate, stretch, or rest properly, he gets all flustered like “Yeah, yeah, I know.” (He doesn’t. He needed that reminder.)
Loves when you wear Seijoh gear with his number on it.
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, he completely short-circuits.
He just stands there, frozen, while Kunimi casually pats him on the back like, “Breathe, man.”
Kindaichi Yuutarou
He’s such a blushing mess when it comes to you. He can barely focus when you’re around.
“Did you see that hit?” “No, because you missed.” “…Right.”
He gets jealous when Kyoutani listens to you more than him.
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, his brain shuts down.
Oikawa bursts out laughing because Kindaichi just stands there, stunned, while Kunimi casually sips his water.
Kunimi Akira
The chillest boyfriend on the team. You’re stressed? He just pulls you into a nap with him.
He’s not super affectionate in public, but if you’re ever tired, he just casually pulls you to sit next to him and leans his head against you.
Everyone assumes he’s lazy, but he’s always watching you, making sure you don’t overwork yourself.
Bonus: If you kiss him after a match, he just smirks and goes, “You must really like me, huh?”
The team groans because he’s acting so smug about it.

After many grueling practices, it was time for Karasuno to head to their tournament.
The boys woke early, reluctant but ready. The morning was chilly, though they knew they’d be sweating by afternoon once the games began. Since the tournament took place during school hours, the team was excused from class.
The Karasuno boys waited as Coach Ukai checked his watch, irritation etched across his face. Hinata and a few second years were still missing—predictable. The team murmured among themselves, shifting and glancing around, while Kageyama stood slightly apart, eyes locked on his phone. He’d sent you the tournament directions and still didn’t know if you’d come, though a quiet part of him hoped you would—even if it meant you skipping class.
"Everything okay, Kageyama?" Yamaguchi asks, snapping the boy away from his phone. Kageyama nervously shoves it in his pocket. "Uh, yeah, everything's fine." "He's probably thinking about Yn," Ennoshita speaks up with a sly smile. Kageyama's face flushes red, clearly proving his senior's point. Sugawara laughs, "Oh, right, aren't they coming to see us?" He pauses, then laughs again. "I mean, see you?" Kageyama doesn't respond, but his face gets ten times redder.
The boys laugh at his reactions. "You really are hopeless," Tsukishima mutters, and Kageyama glares.
After a while, the rest of the team arrived. Coach Ukai quickly laid out the plan, then they boarded in order: third years first, then second years, then first years. Kageyama was already irritated by Hinata’s relentless energy and silently hoped it wouldn’t spiral. Just then, fast-approaching footsteps broke through the moment.
“Tobio!” The moment he hears your voice, he snaps his head up. You’re running straight toward him—and for an instant, everything else disappears. “Y/n!” He doesn’t realize how tightly he’s been holding himself together until it loosens at the sight of you. The pressure in his chest eases as you stop in front of him, slightly out of breath, smiling like you’ve been thinking of nothing but this moment. “I just wanted to say…good luck.”
He opens his mouth to answer, but you’re already reaching up, cupping his face and kissing him. It’s quick and gone before he can fully react, yet it lingers like heat under his skin. You pull away at once, already turning. “I’ll be there! Do your best!” You call, waving as you jog off. Kageyama stays rooted in place, still processing, eyes following you until you blend into the distance. Then he exhales slowly, tension draining from his shoulders. A faint smile tugs at his mouth—small, but steady.
"That was gross." Hinata comments, and Kageyama kicks his back in retaliation.
So, the boys arrive at the large gymnasium.
They still have time before the official match and use it to set up and practice.
Throughout it all, Kageyama wondered what you were doing. He even thinks about what time you might arrive. So many thoughts about you flooded his mind, but he had to keep himself together. As much as he loved you, he couldn't let it distract him. Instead, he can think about how his former peers are now his rivals for this match. When seeing his former seniors and teammates on the other side, he couldn't help but analyze their interactions.
He had always admired Oikawa, and seeing him speak to Kunimi and Kindaichi made him want to learn what secrets he might be revealing.
Kageyama remembers how difficult it was to work with Kunimi, and the thought makes him stare a little too long. Kunimi catches it, shooting him a brief, puzzled glare before turning away to practice his serve. Kageyama stiffens, realizing he’s been obvious, and quickly looks back to his own ball. He pushes the memory aside—better to focus on shaping Hinata into the player he knows he can become.
A few minutes before the match starts, Kageyama quickly decides to use the bathroom.
He approaches Coach Ukai and asks to use the bathroom. Ukai nods, stern as ever. “Make it quick." Kageyama heads quickly to the boys’ restroom, weaving through the bustling crowd of players and spectators. Using his height to his advantage, he slips through efficiently, determined not to risk a scolding from Daichi. Right near the doors, he’s caught off guard to find Kindaichi and Kunimi there. After so long, he considers avoiding them entirely, but Sugawara’s advice echoes in his mind. He hesitates—then decides to at least greet them.
As he gets a clearer view, Kageyama stops short. Kunimi and Kindaichi aren’t alone—you’re there with them, talking as if it’s natural. His chest tightens, a sharp flicker of jealousy catching him off guard. 'What are you doing with them?' He forces it down. Not the time. Not the place. Turning away, he heads into the bathroom instead.
He doesn’t notice that you’ve already seen him.
When he steps out, he freezes—you’re already there. “Hi, Tobio.” Your voice is soft and warm. A soft smile plasters on his face. “Hi, Y/n.” You brighten and hold out your hand. “Ready?” He nods and takes it.
The two of you walk back toward the arena, slowing at the entrance. “Good luck, Tobio.” You press a quick kiss to his cheek. “Thanks,” He murmurs. He watches you head for the stands, eyes tracking you until he finds your seat—locking it in place.
Kageyama sprints back inside, and the match begins.
With the match over, the teams are now on a break before the next one begins.
Karasuno erupts in cheers, laughter mixing with tears—their hard work finally paying off. From the stands, you and Yachi rush down to them. “You guys really did it!” Yachi shouts as Hinata pulls her into a tight hug, both of them bouncing with excitement. Kageyama turns—and you’re already there, wrapping him in a hug before pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “Congratulations.” He smiles, pulling you closer for another kiss, his hands settling at your hips.
"Ugh, seriously?" Tsukishima comments with disgust. Kageyama pulls away to glare at him. Sugawara laughs, patting Tsukishima's shoulder. "Don't hate young love." "Yeah, Tsukishima." Nishinoya butts in. "That'll be you when you get your own significant other." The blonde shudders at the thought. "Like anyone would like his bitchy attitude." Hinata comments, rolling his eyes. "And no one would like your short height." "What the fuck?!" Hinata and Tsukishima continue to argue on the way out with the rest of the team. However, Kageyama grabs your hand, pulling you away from them.
"So, how did you like it?" He asks, the two of you walking hand in hand.
You giggle. “It was really cool watching Hinata in action.” Kageyama frowns slightly, and you laugh. “You were the star, though. I couldn’t take my eyes off you.” A faint blush rises to his cheeks. “Well…of course we won. It was only natural,” He says, brushing it off. “Not that they were bad—I’ve been wanting to face Oikawa.” “They were really good,” You admit. “I got a little worried.” He chuckles. “You don’t have to be. Our team can handle it.”
You smile with admiration. “At least you managed to prove to them that you’ve grown beyond your middle school self. You can work well with others.” Kageyama nods in agreement. “Yeah.” But as he replayed your words, his smile faded slightly.
Kageyama stops walking abruptly, forcing you to stop with him. His eyes lock onto you. “How do you know that?” You blink. “Know what?” “About me in middle school. I don’t remember ever telling you.” The air shifts. You go still—too still. Then you let out a nervous laugh, scratching your cheek. “Oh, uh…I heard about it. You were called the King of the Court, right? S-so I just…heard things!” But your voice wavers. Too quick. Too careful. And the tension in your posture doesn’t match your words.
Kageyama studies you, confusion hardening into suspicion. He doesn’t understand why you’re so tense over a simple question. He almost lets it go. Then he remembers—Kindaichi. Kunimi. You were talking to them like it was nothing.
“Those guys,” He starts, voice tight. “When you were near the bathroom, why were you talking to them?” You look at him fearfully but try to keep your composure. “I-I was just asking for directions.” He narrows his eyes, not fully convinced. Something about your answer doesn’t sit right. His mind replays the moment in fragments—details he hadn’t registered at first. If it were just directions, why were you laughing? Why did the conversation last so long?
Then it hits him. Kunimi was laughing too.
Kageyama’s eyes widen slightly. He hasn’t spoken to Kunimi since graduation, but he remembers him clearly—Kunimi doesn’t laugh easily. He barely reacts to anything at all, let alone with someone he has just met.
And yet, with you…he did.
Kageyama’s thoughts spiral, sharp and suffocating. Everything he thought he understood starts to crumble. He remembers asking you before, remembers you saying you didn’t have an ex boyfriend—but now that answer twists in his mind. What if you only said it to make him feel better?
His grip on your hand tightens, almost painfully.
“Was it him?” His voice is strained. “Was he your boyfriend?” Your eyes widen. “W-What are you talking about?” “Kunimi!” The word bursts out of him, louder than intended. You flinch. “It was him, right? He came before me!” “What are you saying?!” Your voice cracks with disbelief. “I never had feelings for Kunimi—or Kindaichi!” He freezes as the ground beneath him has shifted. His mouth opens, but nothing comes out—shock overtakes certainty. “And not even Oikawa either,” You cut in sharply, as if trying to stop the spiral before it goes further.
Kageyama falls silent for a moment, but another thought sharpens in his mind. “Wait...so you went to the same middle school?” Your face drains of color. “I-I…what makes you think—” “Then how do you know who I’m talking about?!” He cuts in, voice rising. “I-I told you, I just heard—” “So you just casually know my old teammates’ names?” You yank your hand away, clutching your chest as stress builds. “W-Why are you thinking so hard about this?!” His hands clench into fists, frustration breaking through his restraint. “Because I want you to be honest!”
"I-I am!" "No, you're not!" His voice scares you as you take a step back. "So, you really had a boyfriend! You said you didn't!" Kageyama takes a step forward in accusation. "Because it's not them!" You shout in desperation. "Then who?!" His voice roars across the room. The commotion you two are causing is earning stares and whispers from the people passing by. In fear, your eyes shut tight. "You!" It was Kageyama's turn to stand still. "What do you mean?" You shakily look down at the ground. "Because you were the boyfriend from before…"
Kageyama's head goes blank. He is so confused about what that means. "I don't understand. Are you saying-" "I'm saying…" Your voice cracks as you try to talk with confidence. "I'm saying that we used to…" 'We used to…?' Kageyama looks at you for more, but he lowers his head, holding it, a headache starting to form. "We…but you said…" "I-I know, but you didn't remember me." His eyes widen, and he feels a strong ping in his heart. "So then, you lied?" You cover your face, distraught by your own actions. "I panicked! I thought it'd be good for us to start fresh!"
He grips his hair. "So, all this time, when you saw how much I wanted to be near you-" "I didn't know you forgot about me!" Suddenly, tears start to fall down your face. "I really didn't mean to play with your feelings or anything!" "But you did!" He looks back at you, fury and betrayal written all over. "You just kept lying to me! You lied about your past right in front of me, in front of my friends!!"
"Tobio-" "NO!" You gasp at his outburst. "You're so full of shit! I can't believe I'm finally seeing your true colors!" "Tobio, I really love you! I didn't want to keep this from you!” You sob almost in hysterics. "Please, let me explain myself, Tobio!" "Don't call me that." You shut up instantly. His eyes were cold and dark, almost disappointed.
"I want you to stay far away from me. I don't want you here watching my games anymore. Actually, I don't want to see you ever. Go back to school or something. It's over." You gasp upon hearing his words. Your heart shatters, but you can't even respond as he walks away from you. You watch him go before covering your face again and running off in tears.
Kageyama doesn't even go back to his team. Instead, he runs off to somewhere with fewer people and more privacy. He can't take this. He couldn't believe what he had just learned. It was almost like a nightmare. Kageyama made the right choice, but his chest was filled with anguish. He finds himself in a quiet area with chairs and a vending machine beside a water fountain. Kageyama didn't sit on one, though. He slowly walks to the wall, leaning his back, and sliding down.
Kageyama pulls his knees up and buries his head.

Anyone out there a fan of Kindaichi Case Files? I honestly haven't seen much posted about it in general and especially not whump, there's a lot of good moments so I'm thinking about posting some episode lists and maybe clips if there's any interest! I've got a copy of every episode from the original series which can be hard to find online so if anyone is interested in watching it let me know. Great detective whump, especially if you're a fan of Detective Conan!
