A friend of mine, @strange1around, recommended I read Monstersā Garden, and I absolutely loved it. I drew one of my favourite characters, Kilo Monster, who Iāve actually referred to as āKilo Meterā and thatās just my Canadian showing.
I chose to draw him with some cacti because of itās flower meaning. Endurance can mean a lot of things to a variety of people, but to me, it means surviving. Mentally and physically, through years of a harsh climate and environment he still managed to sprout and bloom.
Anyways, this originally started off as one of thoseĀ āHey, I drew a thing to thank you for showing me this awesome comic!ā and it ended up turning into aĀ āomg omg omg omg omg omg omg I HAVE TO STUDY, RETROFIT AND UPGRADE THIS SO I CAN POST ITā
...Anxiety is a great motivator for me. I still have much to learn about anatomy and how things truly intersect (Just because Iāve slowly started cycling references in doesnāt mean I trulyĀ āgetā whatās biologically going on beneath the skin) but after drawing Kilo I feel a bit more confident in my abilities.

Another commission done, this time for a longtime friend and artist who was such a massive inspiration to me during my DeviantART days. Kilo Monsterās been through a lot of changes under Ashās clever hands, and the comic sheās built is a testament to her perseverence, creativity and skills. I like Kilo Monster a lot - heās the kind of character I want to wrap in a blanket and feed scones to until he passes out from coddling.
