“When you said,” Caitlin ground out, her voice low as they crouched under the window, eyes fixed on the shadow crossing by at a snail’s pace, “that you knew who was targeting us, I thought you meant you’d tell me over the phone! Not at a creepy abandoned house! I’ve already been chased through an abandoned house once, why did I even agree to this?”
“To be fair, I didn’t think they’d be home,” Lisa said with little more than a shrug as apology. Her hand might have been resting over Caitlin’s on the floor but it didn’t feel like much of a comfort when they could hear the owner of the house pacing the perimeter. Thank goodness they’d locked the doors the second they saw the figure rounding the back.
“Why wouldn’t they be? It’s their house!”
“What kind of serial killer straight out of a horror movie leaves their doors unlocked?” Lisa countered. “For someone who tried to kill a bunch of teenagers years ago, he’s really bad at basic safety. That’s just begging us to investigate - ”
Caitlin groaned, the sound coming out louder than she meant it to and her eyes widened when Lisa used her other hand to slap it over her mouth. The childish impulse to lick it rose in her but she settled for glaring as Lisa kept her eyes on the fading shadow of the figure outside.
Then the faint trill of sirens reached their ears and Lisa’s grip tightened on her mouth as she whipped around to face Caitlin. “Did you fucking call the cops?”
Caitlin pushed the hand off and hissed, “You told me you knew who the killer was, why would I not call the police?”
“We broke into his house and now the cops are coming,” Lisa snapped, her eyes blazing in the near-darkness. “How is that smart?”
“How is breaking in in the first place - ”
There was a great bang at the front door and the two of them froze. Every vein in Caitlin’s body began to scream, frigid and warm all at once and it took everything in her not to outright panic. Something that sounded suspiciously like wood breaking came a moment later and Caitlin shut her eyes, her nails curling into her palms so hard they had to be drawing blood.
“I think he found an axe,” she whispered, and that was all the warning they had before the whole front door came crashing down and they scrambled to get to the back door.

"It doesn't make any sense. Why would Doctor Wells change that genome back so that they could breed?" Caitlin muses, though Lisa doubts she's expecting a real answer. The scientist seems to still be in shock from the 'unthinkable' happening with their perfect park.
The sheer arrogance of their safety claims would have made her roll her eyes if she hadn't been playing the part of eager adventure journalist at the time. All in aid of finding out what trouble her dear sibling had gotten himself into this time. It wasn't like him to miss a check-in on a job and his last known coordinates were here.
"Greed, ego. Who the hell knows. Len, maybe, if we could find my damn brother on this godforsaken island. But now ain't the time for a chat about your boss's many flaws," Lisa whispers harshly.
She tries nodding to indicate where their attention should be, to get Caitlin to see what she means. Lisa's gaze is stuck on the shadows cast in the hall, visible through the canteen door's portal window - raptors closing in on their position.
Snow doesn't follow that hint, she obviously isn't in any state to help right now. They're gonna have to rely on her own quick thinking and whatever she remembers from Len's hand-me-down books - thank the stars he had a dinosaur phase. Of course, that might be why she finds herself here, in the most dangerous scenario of her life.
Her heart is pounding as she turns on the gas stoves and readies a lighter in her hand. With her other hand, she grabs Caitlin's and yanks her to her feet. Caitlin seems to snap out of her previously blank stare at that.
“This is really happening, isn't it?”
“Yup. Now, run.”
She'd be lying if she said there wasn't any of her that found it thrilling. Only the journalist credential was fake after all, she wasn't a stranger to adventure in its varied forms. Experience taught her the best lies incorporated the truth so that they went down smooth and sure.
Adventure here they come, of the once in a lifetime kind...if they can just get out of it with their lives.

DCTV moodboards: KillerGold for @flarrowverse-shipyard‘s Femslash Week - a late Day 2 - Role Reversal
Golden Glider sprays a smooth trail across the casino floor and is sliding across it elegantly, trying to escape before Barry is done freeing the crowd of gold-encased victims.
Lisa is no hero but she can't just let Caitlin Snow get away with the gun she forced Cisco to build, he's been berating himself enough already for giving in to her demands. So Lisa launches herself after the woman, glad for her many years of ice skating coming in handy.
One minute she's gliding over to Snow, easily having her in her sights, and the next she comes over in a chill. A memory flashes up of sliding over ice in an unfamiliar scenario. Not ice skating as she knows, more like this. And so cold.
That's when she comes to an abrupt stop, stuck to the floor. She thinks for a moment she's been gilded to the floor but Snow is just as surprised when she looks down, seeing no sign of why she came to a stop apart from a light covering of frost on her shoes. Lisa feels a spike of fear and confusion and ice spreads out further from under her feet.
"Interesting," Snow says, before she blows an exaggerated kiss goodbye. "Hope I'll be seeing you around, Frosty."

“Don’t you fucking dare,” Caitlin warned her, raising a finger to cut off whatever horrible idea was glittering behind Lisa’s huge grin. She hugged her phone to her chest and inched back on the couch. “Just because I agreed to the collab doesn’t mean you’re allowed to snoop on my phone, Snart - ”
“Oh, what’s that?” Lisa leaned in, and Caitlin swore her grin grew wider somehow. “I’m not hearing a ‘no’.”
“I literally just said no!”
“I’m not hearing a ‘no’!” Lisa crowed again, louder now, lunging across the couch to grab Caitlin’s iPhone. Caitlin squeaked (a rather embarrassing moment on her part, in retrospect) and swatted at her face and hands, and she tried to tuck her phone down her shirt in an attempt to hide it from Lisa’s wiggling fingers.
“Stop!”
“Oh, come on, you’ve been on it all afternoon!” Caitlin grimaced and held back a snort as Lisa’s fingers brushed the skin of her stomach under her shirt. She didn’t seem to realize she was tickling Caitlin right in her sweet spot, even if she didn’t let up on her ministrations. “What, you got a secret admirer or something?”
Her cheeks felt like they were on fire. “No! What the hell, no, I’m not - it’s just Ronnie!”
That got Lisa to freeze, mischief dying within seconds as she drew back, fingers barely grazing Caitlin’s stomach now. Her eyebrows knit together. “Wait. That fireman-lookalike from Cisco’s party last Halloween.” That last part wasn’t a question.
“Um, yeah.” Caitlin tucked her hair behind her ear and averted her eyes. “We’ve been talking since. He lives a couple blocks from me, actually.”
“Right.” She’d known Lisa for three years, followed her channel for five, and never in her life had Caitlin ever heard the woman sound so...cold. Caitlin glanced up from where she was lying flat on her back on the couch and wanted to grimace again. Lisa’s expression had shut down entirely, a brick wall of no emotion whatsoever. “Of course.”
“He just...” Caitlin gestured uselessly at her phone half-hanging out of her shirt by her chin. “He wanted to know how the collab was going.”
“Right,” Lisa repeated.
Mick cleared his throat and they both jolted, heads whipping toward the camera where Mick was watching with an unamused smirk. “So, you want me to cut this bit or...?”
“Cut it.” Lisa sat up in an instant, a smile spreading across her face in the blink of an eye, hands folded primly in her lap, ever the spitting image of perfect, unbothered tranquility. “We’ll just start this section over.”
Caitlin sat up, tucking her phone into her jean pocket, incomplete text to Ronnie and all, and tried not to think about Lisa’s tight smile for the rest of filming, even as they bickered over stupid shit like whether pickles went well in fondue (which they did not, Lisa truly had no taste).
Somehow, she didn’t succeed.
Seven children grew up and left their childhood behind, left their friends and loved ones to become dust in the wind. They were all so close once, brought together by an indescribable tragedy and a monstrosity that haunted the underbelly of Derry, Maine.
Such a shame they all forgot - all but one, who invoked their promise to return if It did too.
Lisa Snart is Richie Tozier & Caitlin Snow is Eddie Kaspbrak.
