It was the four of them: wild in the back of the Twinkie, sun-baked on the HMS Pogue, surf under their bellies, drunk and warm on a beach. But always, the four of them.

The whole solving mysteries thing - it started as a way to pass the time, mostly. Pope was too smart to sit around letting that big brain of his go to waste, Kiara needed somewhere to direct her endless energy, and John B never met a challenge he didn’t want to dive immediately headfirst into. JJ was just along for the ride.
