For the fic prompt thing, could you possibly make one with Gar, M’gann, Uncle J’onn and possibly M’comm
The summer air was heavy with condensation, sweat gliding off everyone’s skin the second they walked outside. August baked the world, but still Gar was grilling.
Earth sausage and burgers were frying on the grill, as well as some Martian vegetables that J’onn had brought back from his last trip. The smell wafted through the air as M’gann and J’onn set the table with various Earth and Martian dishes.
“You sure it’s fine to be grilling it?” “Given the weather, it is probably better than the traditional manner of food preparation. Mars does not usually have such hot days. Thank you for taking over the grill, Garfield.” “Don’t sweat it! Literally.” Gar looked over the finished food and transferred them to a serving platter. “It’s not every year that Hitt’on’leer comes.” “Well, not once every Earth year,” M’gann smirked. She sat up and took her seat, hands on her lap as Gar took his seat as well.
J’onn smiled at the two and then straightened as he set up the mind link. On this day, we honor both H’ron’meer and family. Waves of feelings washed over the link as the weight of the holiday pressed on them. We honor those we have with us, and those that H’ron’meer has taken, knowing we will one day be united and have many stories to share.
Gar teared up as he thought of his mothers and teammates. M’gann turned away physically, but let the others be by her side mentally. J’onn’s melancholy flowed, with surprising fondness for a man who had deprived him of all chocos along with those who had died of simple things such as age.
The grief shared and the moment passed, they all stood up to give food to the empty fourth plate that represented the place their loved ones had in their heart. Then they began to take for themselves and moved on to lighter topics.
As J’onn talked about his work and M’gann commented on the latest recipes she was trying, Gar relaxed in the summer heat as the glow of family settled around him.
