Taken from a Wikipedia article. Though there are variations between jurisdictions, rights revocation is implemented often in the event of an emergency. #COVID-19 is no exception. While the #USConstitution does not have a #pandemic clause, which why would it when nobody would acknowledge today it was even possible, but it does have a state of emergency one. Yes, mortality rates are relatively low now, but what concerns many is how fast this thing is spreading AND mutating. Latest estimates say 30+ strains have emerged, some more deadly than other. Yes, people need to be able to work. This is what happens when scientific research, medical operations, medical insurance, general business operations, and so on are focused to benefit the few. This is what happens when nothing is allow safety nets in the event of extreme circumstances, no matter how unlikely they may seem. There are countries around the globe more ready for #Godzilla attacks than biological menaces of unknown origin. Yes, having the #kidshome all the time sucks and they're getting stir crazy from not seeing their friends. Graduating classes may not get a #prom (unless you fork out a Hazmat theme), #senior trip, or even a ceremony but life does not stop. Most of you parents prep your kids for crippling student loans and being married with kids before they're even 30, which literally makes them more susceptible to catch major illnesses off of stress alone. Yes, #thisisscary. Yes, rights being revoke in times of crisis can and has been abused before. I've seen some of you compare this to Hitler's #Germany. You realize Hitler, among many in the Nazi party, used a lot of meth just to keep pushing the invasion? Yet none of you want to tackle the #opioidcrisis! But right now, our division in this matter will NOT make things any better. We're going to make this worse because we as a people are being too stubborn to look at the big picture. I'm also willing to bet many of you won't read this in the entirety and get ready to try starting an argument.
