Do you think it would be ok if i added Kemeticism into my hoodoo
I think most of the answers to this question are in this post which explains whether you can practice a religion or another magical practice and hoodoo together or at the same time. (TL;DR: yes, you can, but there are important historical and technical differences to keep in mind, touched on in that post).
I want to note a few things for Kemeticism in particular though. Even though hoodoo and Kemeticism are both Africana traditions, they are very different. Kemeticism is an ATR (African Traditional Religion), but it’s from Northwest Africa and it’s no longer a living religion. Hoodoo’s foundations are a number of ATRs, mostly from West and Central Africa where the majority of slaves were taken. So Kemeticism is not one of them and did not influence the formation of hoodoo as it developed out of ATRs in the US during slavery.
Not only is Kemeticism a religion that did not really play an active role in hoodoo’s development, but it’s also a religion that has its own magic tradition that is distinct from hoodoo. Kemeticism encompasses both the Kemetic religion and its own Kemetic magic system. Since Kemetic magic would relate to Egyptian land and ancient cultural norms while hoodoo relates to North American flora and fauna, there are going to be major differences.
So yes you definitely can, but I recommend thinking about how and why you want to blend these two Africana traditions together and in what ways they are similar or different from each other.
Also, please make sure that hoodoo is open to you before practicing!
