I love seeing everybody’s 2018 goals and New Year Resolutions. With everybody being so motivated today, and for the next week or so, I wanted to give you a little reminder that I believe will help you after your week long motivation wears off. . Self-Discipline. . I believe that this is what everybody should strive for, we all have one or more areas in our lives that we can become more self-disciplined in, especially myself. . Is self-discipline hard? Yes. . But why? . Because when you increase your discipline you are holding yourself to a higher standard, which at first can be fun because it’s something different, however about three weeks in or so is when people drop off because their goals aren’t that important to them because of their influences around them (friends, family, music, coworkers, etc). . What happens is that while you are trying to hold yourself to a higher standard your influences (friends, family, music, coworkers, etc) are staying in the same place, but then don’t want you to leave them because it’s uncomfortable, it’s hard, it’s different, and you grow distant from some of them. . If this is you this year or in previous years, try this approach. Verbally share your goals, thoughts, vision, and expectations with these individuals or influences and ask them to support you by joining you in your quest to become more self-disciplined. Ask them to hold you accountable, be someone that you can reach out to, but also tell them to give you tough love and not allow you to fall into your old habits! . I’d love to help any of you with that if you need an accountability partner or, anything else I can help with, or if you’d like me to go on your journey with you! If so, please either DM me or e-mail! .
