In August and September of 2016, Trump blacklisted The Washington Post and other news supposedly “unfair” news organizations, refusing to issue press credentials and effectively banning them from his campaign.

In October of 2017, displeased with his coverage on “NBC and the Networks,” Trump threatened to “challenge their License.” Later that same day, Trump reaffirmed that their “licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked.”

In November of 2017, Trump urged a boycott of CNN for the network’s unfavorable reporting.

In July of 2018, Trump banned CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins from a press conference “for asking questions the White House deemed ‘inappropriate.’”

In October of 2018, Trump revoked CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s press credentials, and posted a doctored video in support. A federal judge had to order Trump to reinstate Acosta’s credentials.

In August of 2019, Trump revoked reporter Brian Karem’s press credentials for trading insults with former White House aide Sebastian Gorka. Again, a federal judge had to order Trump to reinstate Karem’s credentials.
