The âKapsalonâ was originally created in 2003, by the owner of a hairdresserâs saloon on the Schiedamse weg in Rotterdam, by ordering a dish from a layer of fries placed into a disposable metal take-away tray, topped with shawarma meat, covered with slices of Gouda cheese, and heated in an oven until the cheese melts.
Itâs a Rotterdam speciality, thank you very much.
