Kalego had agreed to lay down with Robin, on the condition that he didn’t get in his way while he read. Naturally, Robin tried his hardest to break that agreement within minutes. He had crawled onto Kalego’s chest, tucked his head into the crook of his neck, and curled his legs up. It was apparently not in-the-way enough for Kalego to move him, instead sighing heavily and slinging an arm over his waist so he could hold his book up higher.

An hour and a failed nap attempt later, Robin sat up. Kalego frowned at him, setting a hand on his back and shoving him back down.

“Hey!” Robin laughed, wrapping his arms around Kalego’s neck.

“I’m still reading.” Kalego grumbled.

“I want to do something.”

“Save it.”

“C’monnnn…” Robin whined, “I want you to show me how to put on eyeliner.”

That got Kalego to lower his book. “Why?”

“So many people do it!” Robin sat back up, grinning. “But I never have, I’m curious.”

“Like who?”

Robin paused, still smiling, but eyes blank. It was a minute before he spoke up. “Os?”

“Os? Orias is on a nickname basis with you?” Kalego smirked, setting his book down on the nightstand beside him.

“I’m on a nickname basis with him.”

“Right.” He sat up, patting Robin’s hip. “Get up.”

Robin scrambled off him, nearly falling off the edge of the bed as he stood up. “You’ll do it!? Really?” He grabbed Kalego’s arm, tugging on him as he stood up.

“Yes, stop that.” He shifted his arm out of Robin’s grip, “It’ll be fun to watch you humiliate yourself.” Robin was close behind as he walked into the bathroom, opening the drawer he kept most of his makeup in. He pulled out a small black jar and a tiny brush, nudging the drawer shut with his hip. Robin sat on the counter, kicking his legs.

“Isn’t it usually like… a marker?” He watched Kalego uncap the jar, swiping the brush across it.

“Sometimes.” Kalego stepped between Robin’s legs, cupping his chin and tilting his head up. “I’ll demonstrate for you.” Robin gave a half nod, closing his eyes and waiting. Kalego sighed, wiggling his chin. “Open your eyes.”

Robin blinked. “Why?”

“I’m sure you can figure that out.” He leaned forward, resting his pinkie on Robin’s cheek. His expression hardened, brows furrowed and mouth pulled into a thin line while he focused. He moved the brush towards Robin’s eyelid, and he instinctively flinched back. Kalego frowned. “Robin.”

Robin laughed, playfully pushing at his chest. “Sorry! Didn’t mean to.” He placed his chin in Kalego’s hand, staring up at him expectantly. Kalego set his hand back in place, lowering the brush to Robin’s eyelid. Robin was clearly making quite the effort to sit still, hands balled into fists in his lap and cheeks puffed as Kalego dragged the brush along the edge of his eyelid.

Kalego would be lying if he said it wasn’t cute. It wasn’t a word he would usually ascribe to him, but when Robin wasn’t going out of his way to be a pest he was rather endearing. Especially when he was visibly struggling.

“This can’t be that difficult.”

Robin was silent, until Kalego took his hand off his face. He exhaled heavily, leaning forward and smacking his forehead against Kalego’s chest. “It’s very difficult.”

“Don’t give me that. I’ve seen you sit in trees for hours.”

“Thats different!” He whined, raising his head and resting his chin on Kalego. “I have something to focus on when I’m sniping.”

“Figure it out.” Kalego pulled Robin off of him, pushing him to sit up straight.

“How long will it take?”

“Until it’s done.” Kalego put his hand back into place, Robin tensing beneath him as he tried to sit still. He fidgeted with his hands while Kalego worked, but kept mostly still. After a few minutes of purposefully fussing with the wing he took a step back, holding the brush out to Robin. Robin pouted at him, grabbing the brush and sliding off of the counter, turning around to stare at himself in the mirror.

“Ooooh…” He cooed, tilting his head to the side. “It’s cute!”

“It’s not meant to be cute.” Kalego set the jar on the counter next to him, Robin picking it up.

“Maybe you messed up then.” He slid the brush across the liner, picking up a bit more product before leaning closer to the mirror.

“I did not.” Kalego frowned, crossing his arms. He watched Robin stare at himself in the mirror, brush hovering over his eye. A moment later he turned around, brows furrowed.

“This is hard.” Robin spoke quietly. Kalego smiled, raising his eyebrows.

“Just give it a go.”

“I don’t know what I’m doing!” He whined, turning back to the mirror.

“Even after I gave you a demonstration?”
