Kaiju No.8 dealing with survivors guilt is soooo cool.
They give you a veteran who is desperately trying to prevent future generations from sacrificing their lives because it happened to his generation —and he lost his best friend because of it!!— and the solution is for him to realize it's different this time. They have him. There's a reason for him to survive. The sacrifices weren't in vain. It's not as it was because everyone before him tried to and he is trying to and the future generation is trying to.
He has a duty with the living and the dead!!!!
