Batman being able to do shit like resist mind control and crediting that to his mental discipline honed by training with "Tibetan monks" is rooted in the Orientalism that was especially prevalent in a lot of old comics, but it's also low key hilarious when you remember that in Batman Beyond, there's a Green Lantern who was raised in a Buddhist monastery in Tibet
Mind you, Bruce only spent a relatively short time with the monks during his journey around the world to become a crime fighter, but Kai Ro was raised by the monks his whole life before becoming a GL. Imagine the comedic potential of Batman having to concentrate for several minutes to astral project while Kai just pops his soul out of his body as easily as going for a walk
Alternatively, imagine if during the Batman Beyond era, Terry brings up the original Batman's supposed training with the monks and Kai just looks at him confused like what??? And that's how everyone finds out Bruce never even went to Tibet and has just been bullshitting everyone for decades
