Going off of trends when it comes to the backstories of the express crew and the hunters do you think trailblazer and Kafka fall into the categories of their backstories being tied to actions of the past that continue to haunt them like blade and dan heng or the categorie of them being fucked over by life like silverwolf, himeko, firefly, and welt
Oh thats easy.
Its both.
Genuinely its both.
Their separate stories are alreadu ones of being fucked over by life - my last post said as much. But also together, theyāre fucked over by life.
They are, to put it simply, in whatever way you choose to read them, platonic or romantic, soulmates.
Their stories are intertwined, their destines are so inextricably linked that if you follow any one thread about them long enough you will lead yourself back to the other.
And yet they are separated. They are not together, they no longer fight side by side. They do not even walk the same Path.
And this is where the past actions come to haunt bit comes in - the worst bit, is it isnt even entirely of no fault of their own.
From everything we know about Trailblazerās freedom from predetermined fate, from everything we know about the Stellaron Hunters..
Trailblazer is free to choose their own path, they are not held hostage by the same fate any one else is. Their future is read empty because its not written before they themself choose to write it.
And the Stellaron Hunters, for all they align so closely with the script.. its still a script. And its not one that they are incapable of denying if they truly desire it. Hell, Kafka tells Firefly that she doesnt have to go along with Elioās plans for her in Penacony. Likely, Elio couldāve written another script - just.. not one with as good an ending as we got. Firefly chose too anyways.
These two things in tandem?
They lead to one implication, aided by the fsct that the Stellaron Hunters respect Elio deeply, that there is no resent towards him, not even for ātaking awayā the person they all care for so deeply.
The Trailblazer chose to go along with the Script, have their memory erased, and join the Express and set off.
That was not something they were forced into - the only pressure was the knowledge of what would happen if they didnt, most likely, which is of fault of the universe. But it was still ultimately the Trailblazerās decision to go through with it, as it was Fireflyās decision to walk towards death, as it was Bladeās as well.
And then, we have Kafkaās involvement of that as well. She aided in erasing Trailblazerās memory.
It was her words, which took every precious memory, every moment between her and the Trailblazer, between the Trailblazer and the rest of their fucked up little family, and locked them away.
And once again, quire likely, it was Kafkaās own choice, to do such. Because we know, that there are many other methods of memory erasure available. And we know, that it was Spirit Whisper which played a large part.
Kafka & Trailblazer dance between the lines of experiencing tragedy of no fault of their own, and the tragedy being something that they did in fact brought upon themselves. And man, is that dance a wonderful dance to watch lmao.
The sooner we get more on them, the better.
On another note, when we do, i really hope that Firefly isnt entirely left out. Because she is the companion they have had and cared for longest beside each other & Elio. And they both seriously care for her, in a way much more gentle than the other Hunters.
