I will introduce you to Kadife, the main character of Hoofbeats.

She's an apprentice horse trainer who is doing her best to support her family/younger siblings since her mother can't work anymore. She is generally calm and easy-going, probably because she's used to working around horses, and is very responsible. Her mom always tries to encourage her to go out and have a little more fun but she doesn't feel right doing so.

She ends up taking a job for someone that she knows is part of the criminal underground but, well, he just pays really well. And it gives her a lot more freedom as a trainer. Also, she kind of has the hots for his daughter although she doesn't really want to admit at first because Tirzha is pretty much her exact opposite in every way and Kadife does find her a little annoying sometimes LMAO

She's the kind of character who was always able to maintain a certain levelheadedness and make rational decisions because she was never truly passionate about anything, but that definitely changes for her over the course of the story~
