Kabby Week 2017Â Day Three - Under-appreciated Moment (Kane confronts Abby in âMurphyâs Lawâ)
I love this scene so much - itâs not romantic by any means, but itâs so powerful. I love Kaneâs genuine sympathy for Abbyâs loss of Clarke. I love Abbyâs blind, stubborn faith that sheâs still alive. Most of all I love Kaneâs little nod of acceptance - he doesnât believe for a moment that Clarke is alive, but he understands why Abby needs to, and he doesnât come up with a smart reply or argue further. This isnât a scene of two mortal enemies furiously clashing; itâs a scene of two good people who are both desperately trying to do the right thing...but who find themselves on opposite sides and simply cannot make the other understand. Itâs a lovely, sincere, intimately framed little human moment between Marcus and Abby, before he moves on to his questioning and they become Councillor Kane and Councillor Griffin once again.
