BRIDGE 10’5” X 22’8” Billboard Location: 201 W Broadway, Minneapolis, MN Work will be on view until mid February ❤️🖤🤍 @redwingheritage X @jxta_arts have created a collection of limited run boots and sweatshirts. As part of this collaborative project, JXTA apprentice get hands on experience as they helped design the new line of clothing and the billboard ART takeover! Conceptually, “BRIDGE” illustrates the connection point JXTA creates for apprentice to engage with professional artists and designers. These bridges give young creatives experience and insight into these professional practices and workings. That's our artistic director, Roger, refilling the bubble machine in the one-of-a-kind Nasrin design from #JXTATextiles. 

Destiny on their startup “Its mainly to promote positive creation/creativity. Its called LIKE US – not because we want for people to be like us, but just to add positive lifestyle, mindsets, being healthy, not just working out but listening to the right music, being around the right people. The time is now.”

JXTA SUMMER FLASHBACKS: “I started sewing in middle school. They usually have in every school this Family and Consumer Science course. Before that, my mom always knew how to sew and she was sewing her whole life, and that was her way of making a living. But she would never let me sew even though I really wanted to because I was too young. Then when I entered 7th grade, we made a little frog in class. I showed my mom and she said, “Okay we can start practicing on my sewing machine.” From there I did little projects of mine like shirts, and I would help my mom as well. In the Textile Lab, I take a ready made t-shirt, cut it up and attach a different fabric. Then I add a panel or custom designed sleeves or pockets.I still need to learn a lot. I want to learn – I want to be able to do what fashion designers can do. My dream is to design for men and women, so do a feminine design and masculine learn both sides, and mix it up and make unisex, in terms of fit and even colors and fabrics.”  Textile Lab apprentice Nasrin and her tote bag and re-constructed t-shirt design featured.
