Anyone wanna take bets on whether they even bother to bring another love interest in for season 5?

I give it 50/50 odds. I know it's the CW and all, but I think they're getting positive feedback on not having one for her from the weirdos who equate being perpetually alone with female empowerment. They also know there's gonna be a shitstorm whenever they hook her up again with literally anyone, which they seem to be particularly squeamish about, and it might be a hard sell to anyone new coming in, knowing how much abuse they're going to get.

And everyone who actually cared about Kara seems to have bailed on the show. They're at their floor ratings-wise, and unless they can get someone really noteworthy to stunt cast, they're not likely gonna pull any new people into the show with another romance arc.

Plus to the extent they give a shit about their own narrative (I mean they must a little right?) they're kind of boxed in. For Kara love has always been framed as the selfish choice, and even though I know she basically rejected Argo, her mom, Mon, and her entire Kryptonian side, I can't imagine they won't loop back around to her dual identity issues right? I mean at some point they HAVE to tell a story that's actually ABOUT their main character, don't they?

Mon-El Appreciation Week-Day 3

Okay, there are several moments that I cannot watch without breaking my heart for Mon-El.

2x10 Mon-El tells Kara that he cares about her but he was not speaking up to change her mind.

2x11 Kara tells Mon-El that she would never be with him because the way he is and he takes it like a champ.

2x13 Kara tells Mon-El that she is marrying Myxz and they will make a great team.

2x16 Kara breaks up with Mon-El.

2x17 Mon-El leaves Kara to save her.

2x20 Rhea lies to Mon-El and tells him his father's death was his fault.

3x18 Mon-El says goodbye to Kara, thinking it's forever.

But these three: I can't watch these three without tearing up.

3x15 Kara lashes to Mon-El under Mrynn mental anger, mentioning situations that happened before they were together.

2x22 Mon-El leaves to survive after Kara sends the lead to the atmosphere to save the world.

3x23 Mon-El has to leave Kara again to save the future.

Honestly, anon? I’m a bit discouraged, but I’m still holding onto hope, and there’s a few reasons why.

Mon El was not properly written offYes, that was super irritating and disrespectful, BUT it leaves room for the character to be brought back in later seasons

The reason he left has to do with BrainiacIf I know nothing else about the comics, it’s that Brainiac is a major villain to the Supers. And (I know this happens in Injustice but idk about the comics because on Krypton it was different) Brainiac collects Argo City, which would definitely affect Kara. My hope is that Mon and Winn will come back in a later season, asking for Kara’s help with him. It’d be a good story for Brainy too.

Klaroline and Roy HarperEven if things seem bad now, it doesn’t mean it’s permanent. Roy Harper was properly written off Arrow, and is returning as a series regular this year. And Caroline was given an endgame with Stefan on TVD, but after his death, it seems like she’ll now be endgame with Klaus to wrap up the Originals. Especially since they were written as endgame in s2, I think there’s hope that the stars will align for them again, and that they can still be endgame.
