Just, just Jun teaching mc to swim. Like come on, who wouldnt enjoy Jun being a smooth mofo while mc is drowning
Jun wouldn’t be a good teacher, might I add. But this proved to be fun to write so here you go.
————–
“Jun please.” You call. “I swear to god, if you don’t- AAH!“ You scream once Jun pops out of the water right in front of you. They look startled but you’re now nursing a headache.
“Sorry.” Jun mutters, stepping away from you. “Did you manage to do it?”
“Do what? Doggy paddle until I drown? No, I haven’t.” You answer with passive aggression. I mean, when you said you wanted to learn how to swim, you thought that asking Jun (who’s literally made of water) for help was the best idea. But now, you’re starting to regret that decision.
Jun leans on their back and starts floating. Their body seems to be almost fading in the water, but they keep their physical body. “You need to try to learn.” They mutter.
“Your idea of trying is honestly very dangerous.”
“You haven’t even stepped into the deep end.” They point out, briefly moving their head to look at you. Carefully, you tip-toe forwards, into the edge of where your feet reach you. “Just swim here.” They say, now swimming normally a few feet ahead of you.
You shake your head and hum. “Nope, no, not doing that.” You glare at them. “That’s way too far Jun! I know you’re a good swimmer, but you’re supposed to be helping me.”
“And I will. But you have to be the one to take the leap.” Jun swims towards you this time instead of away from you. They slowly put their hands out to you, saying that they’ll catch you if you start having trouble. Though, you’re sure that’s going to be the minute you can’t feel the floor anymore. “Go on.”
“Okay… Okay, I got this.” You take deep breaths and moving even slower in the water, you put your foot out and leap forwards. “AAAHHH!” You scream as you paddle around, no longer able to walk. “Jun!” You yell, trying to turn yourself around so you can swim back to the safe area.
Jun is on you before you know it, they grab your hands and you put all your weight on them. “Just calm down.”
“Easy for you to say, you’re not in a constant downfall to the deep ends of your death.” You grab them and that was your last mistake. Jun starts dragging you further into the pool, soon the safe area is a long way away. “Jun! What are you doing-“
“I’m going to let you go now.”
“Ju- No! You are not doing that.”
“One, two-“
“Jun!”
“-three.” And they dive deep underwater, no longer in sight. You paddle in panic as you are barely able to keep yourself on surface. You have no idea where Jun is and no matter how many times you call them, they never resurface.
You start feeling tired and the walls of the pool are too far away to reach. Jun just killed you, this is how you’re going to die. Stranded in the deep end, with nowhere to rest your feet. “Jun, I’m serious.” You start gurgling as water starts overcoming you. Taking a deep breath, you resolve that maybe swimming underwater will be easier, so you hold your breath and go.
You open your eyes underwater and see how truly deep and dark it is. The sunlight breaks through the surface and you manage to spot a nearby wall, swimming towards it proves to be far more difficult though.
“Hey, see?” Jun’s voice rings out underwater. It sounds perfectly clear, not muffled at all. Turning wildly around, you feel hands on your shoulders.
“AAH!” You scream again, but bubbles are the only thing that come out of your mouth. You realise you lost a bit a breath in doing that and in a few seconds you’ll have to resurface, though you feel less tired as you’re simply floating. Jun was the one who touched your shoulders however, they’re gently keeping you afloat, and they seem to smile even though they’re almost invisible.
“Don’t think too much. When you’re underwater everything feels nice and slow. Just relax.” Jun says. “Swimming is pretty fun when you relax.”
You nod, counting in your head to keep your cool. The need for oxygen doesn’t feel tight on your chest yet, so you relax into their arms and they pull you closer significantly. They’re water. But they’re a different set of water.
Well, this isn’t necessarily swimming, but you’ll learn that Jun only teaches by feeling not logic.
