Juicing 101, because you askedā¦.
Q: WHERE DO I BUY A JUICER, AND DO YOU HAVE A PREFERRED BRAND?
A: I suggest buying a juicer from Costco, because they have a lifetime return policy. Youāll spend around $150 for an average juicer. In my dreams, I juice with a Pure juicer, but that will run you around $2,000+. Itās what my mom used when healing from cancer. However, you donāt have to break the bank to reap the benefits.
Q: HOW DO YOU KEEP COSTS DOWN WHEN BUYING PRODUCE? DOES IT HAVE TO BE ORGANIC?
A: Itās best to buy bulk. Itās easier on the wallet. Sometimes I find organic produce (carrots, leafy greens, apples) at Walmart. If I juice the skin, then I buy organic. If youāll be pealing it (ex. lemon, orange), then save your money.
Q: HOW MUCH JUICE DO YOU MAKE/DRINK AT A TIME?
A: Unlike a smoothie, the fiber is removed in juices. With it being so condensed, your average juice will be about 8 ounces.
Q: IS THERE AN ORDER TO WHAT YOUR JUICE FIRST/LAST?
A: When I juice high fiber fruits/veggies, Iāll follow with something really juicy to extract what I can out of the previously juiced ingredient (ex. cucumber after collard greens).
Q: CAN YOU SAVE THE JUICES FOR LATER?
A: Sure, but youāll begin to lose enzymes. To get the most out of it, youāll want to drink it as fresh as possible.
Q: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE JUICING RECIPES?
A: If I had to choose my top two for their health benefits, it would be the Immune-Boosting Juice, and the Cancer-Fighting Juice. Scroll šš½ for recipes. I highly recommend getting the book, The Juicing Bible.
